I can understand your feeling that way but I hope you don’t spend too much time dwelling on it. Because you’ll only miss the now and all the possibilities associated with it. Then one day you’ll wake up at 60 or 70 and think to yourself, “wow how quickly time passes, I’d give anything to be 40 again!”

I turned 50 a couple of years ago and I haven't let it depress me. If anything is depressing it's the way people are trashing the English language on this site. Fortunately this is one of the sensible posts, but I've been having a hard time trying to understand some of the others.

I look back and see how much ive grown. Im happier at 44 than ive ever been. Im comfortable in my skin, and thats something I've never been before.

I got depressed at 35 and was fine after that. Don't let it get you down.

I will be 40 in two months, just another year of growth. Today is as young as you'll ever be so enjoy it.

40 was hard for me too. I turn 50 in April.

Sally:

Someday!

Harry:
In eight years!

But it's there! It's like a big dead end! And it's not the same for men -- Charlie Chaplin had kids in his 70's!

Harry:
Yeah, but he was too old to pick them up.

I'm enjoying each phase as it has something new and fresh in it if you look at it with enthusiastic and curious eyes

Do feel depressed, I'm almost 60

I didn't like turning 40. I wasn't so keen on 50 either.

40 wasn’t so bad. Enjoy each day.

To some of us, 40 is young. Enjoy it, because like it or not, aging still provides more options than the alternative.

i was still attracting the 20 somethings when i was 40....not so much now at 54 lol 🤣
