Yep .. seems I've spent my whole adult life doing it.
Working extra days/holidays and driving used vehicles etc to pay down my college loans faster ...
Earning my masters degree in my 20s to take advantage of company education benefits ..
Supporting my wife through three different college degrees, though I'm not sure there will be a payback past the 1st one ..
Putting two kids through college out of pocket, both in at same time for 2 yrs, and the youngest now going on for a PhD

Been there, done that. I think it's called working towards a goal?

Yes - most days. I twisted my pelvis a couple of years ago and it now takes about 10 minutes of walking until the pain abates and I can move normally.

I am wondering when the "Gains," begin. I have been struggling for years now.

Been there, done that. Several times. All I can say is, it depends on whether or not the ultimate gain is worth the amount of pain involved. 🥺

It’s getting harder and harder. I used to love my job. Every other day or every time something happens they have a whole new way of doing things in the name of safety. It’s not about us. It’s about covering their a$$.

My personal efforts would include a military pension and a graduate degree. Both took many years to produce something of value.

[@sw-question] if has long term beneficial results a little pain may be worth the sacrifice
Pinkstarburst · 51-55, F
Shouldn’t that be long term pain for short term gain??
