You sound like a half decent neighbour. I remember moving on couple of occasions and the next door neighbours would knock on the door, introduce themselves and say welcome to the neighbourhood. It wasn’t apartment though, all were houses. Blasting loud music is so rude when they’re new to the block.

That's how it is with my neighbors. Might not exactly be buddies with them and only exchange few words, but at least there's a degree of friendliness present. Much better than being at odds with them.
