I lost a privilege after a school suspension at 12 years old.

Along time ago my dad would not let me attend my brother's wedding after being suspended out of school.

Now that's overkill. 😞
@calicuz I agree

Are they still married

Keeping you from your brother’s wedding over a school suspension is stupid. Not allowing you to go out with friends and not having electronics is more suitable

Perhaps it’s time to get over it and move on?

Just a thought.

That's a bit much

@Joshua1989 suppose a bit harsh but it seemed too a fitting punishment as it must of bothered you as you still think about it now
@smiler2012 Punishment is supposed to educate a child, not traumatise them.

The fact that he's still thinking about it now could be because it was traumatic for him at the time.

What you're saying is absolutely false. Where the hell did you learn that BS? 😡

A learning environment is never an environment comprised of punishment of any kind. Punishment does not teach lessons; punishment ONLY serves as a consequence for doing something the wrong way, which means punishment never provides guidance as to what the right way of doing something actually is.

Your theory of punishment having a purpose to educate a child is nothing more than a self-serving ego trip at best, because punishing a child only serves YOUR ego in making you believe that you're a great educator, but it doesn't serve the child AT ALL.

Sounds like a privilege that you got out of going.

Do u think it is time for u to move on with this
Nanori · F
Long hair would look good on u
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
That was hardly appropriate
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
That's extreme.
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
That's pretty harsh!
Monalisaa1986 · 36-40, F
Why did you get suspended for
SandWitch · 26-30, F
If your father knew any better, he would have done better with raising his children. But your father turned out to be one of those goofy guys who had no business fathering a child in the first place but did anyway, which means he was nothing more than your mom's sperm donor in truth.

Secretly, your mom probably regrets marrying the silly bugger. This incident about not attending your brother's wedding is not about you at all, it's actually about the inherent social ineptitude of your father, which again means he didn't know any better.
