Would you be able to survive living in the stone age after living our modern life?

Say if the whole world was thrown back to stone age time in less than 24hrs by some catastrophic event that kills 98% of all humans all over the planet.

Samples of a catastrophic events:

Meteorite the size of Texas hitting the planet.

Earth magnetic poles switch and cause huge earthquakes, typhoons, sinkholes, flooding and so on.

There would be no internet, no cellphones, no cars, no houses, no televisions, no food grocery stores, no guns to hunt or to protect yourself with.

Can't hunt animals for food, because most of the animals have been wiped out to, just like 98% of worlds population of humans would be wiped out to.

So do you think if your one of the 2% that survived this ordeal. Could you now live in this new world?

No... hell, I can't even understand Shakespearean English, how the hell am I going to understand stone age English? Or whatever language they're speaking....

I might make some friends with teaching them about fire... but that's about it.

I live in a place where I haul my water and bathe by the fire but I do have electricity and internet so I guess that would be hard to adjust but we would eventually do it. We are an adaptive species

@TentmakerJohn

I just saw that episode, but I didn't pay attention to the dudes name
@HumanEarth

Good lord, man... gotta link?? Did he also say anything about Harry Houdini?
HumanEarth · 51-55, M
@TentmakerJohn It was on live television here locally

This keeps reminding me of what a counsellor in the drug rehab place said to a group of us : ' In case of a catastrophe, who better to get to help but an addict, -they aren't lazy..lying in bed, waking up with a yawn,wondering how the days is going to go...-no, they are already up trying to get stuff happening so they can get what is needed. ..They would be good at organizing and getting things done. They have a driving work ethic. They face rough stuff with knowledge... So I think society will be alright as long as there are enough drug addicts around to hire. They have to promise not to steal, though
if i was still alive ,sure I have lived few levels above a cave man most of my life,
HumanEarth · 51-55, M
As so have I
deadgerbil · 22-25, M
Nah. Not to mention the lack of medical stuff. People would die from simple infected cuts, let alone those who wouldn't be able to live or function without prescriptions for various things
lonelyloner · 31-35, F
yes am quite confident about that as i had that life already lived in my life but i must admit that i only would miss the internet and this site bcoz only connection for me with outer world
exexec · 61-69, C
Yes. I grew up outdoors back in the dark ages, so I could survive. If all my loved ones were gone, I wouldn't want to survive.
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@exexec until some of us little people came by and asked for advice and pulled at your sleeve and pleaded: ' please....'

I've always romanticized a post apocalyptic world. I'm bored and angry with how easy life is.
HumanEarth · 51-55, M
Make it tough on yourself

Get rid of all modern stuff

Crap in bucket, not a toilet
Throw away the cellphone (I never had one)
Cut wood for heat
@HumanEarth

He was in the business a looong time. A simple google search should do the trick forya...
HumanEarth · 51-55, M
Duck duck go would be better than Google
@HumanEarth

You know what? Thanks for reminding me about DuckDuckGo. I've recently discovered (personally) that Google is predatory and invasive.
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
I've already lived in a stoned age, man..
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
No, I need asthma meds to survive.
HumanEarth · 51-55, M
Ugg is all you got to say say lol
ServantOfTheGoddess · 61-69, M
I would not expect to; I am a soft modern human. I would just hope to die soon of starvation rather than by being killed and eaten by tougher survivors.

NOT without significant training and prep!
HumanEarth · 51-55, M
You start training before you need it

Maybe. Other humans trying to do the same thing might be a significant obstacle though. And I guess I also have to ask "for how long"
HumanEarth · 51-55, M
Everyone thats survives will live though it for the rest of their lives.

Consider this the great reset of man kind
