How can people sleep in total darkness?

Not at all... One is familiar with the path..
Lights don't let me sleep well.
And anyway here isn't that dark

I’ve pretty much memorized where everything is in my room due to this very reason. I hate the light.

i was born into darkness

I prefer my bedroom to be almost totally dark, but there's always some light coming in through the door because I like to have a nightlight out in the hall (so that would light the way if I have to go to the bathroom).

I've been used to it since I was 11 or so. Night vision mode gets activated lol and it doesn't take you much to adapt to the surroundings 🦉

I know my house by heart, how many steps I need to take to get to some room

The way is too famiar to trip over something.
Yet a nice night bulb of low power probably red will do good.

There’s enough led light from various things to see my way through the dark at home

I need blackout curtains and all light blocked I am a light sleeper

I prefer to have a small night light on it also some nights if that light hits my face just right, it keeps me awake.

Light sensitive carpets

I just turn my flashlight on and leave it on my bed

I have night lights all over the place. Two in my bedroom -- 3 if you count the one in my bathroom. Two in the kitchen, one at the top of the stairs, etc. Can't do total darkness, unless there's a blackout--well then I'd light a candle, so...

Easy, hit the lamp switch to turn on before leaving the bed...

Also, I think I could get to the bathroom in darkness no problem, might stub a toe and need some light once in there, but getting there is no issue.

I can navigate just fine in total darkness, even go up and down stairs, provided nothing has been moved around

I have a night light in the darker part of my house. It only comes on at night.

I need total darkness to sleep. I can find my way to the bathroom. I've got it memorized lol

Strangely, I can see pretty well in the dark, once my eyes have adjusted. I do keep a nightlight in the hall, though.

I am one with the dark side🤗
