May i ask how everyone is coping with the pandemic and its life changing?

I remember when it all started, I honestly thought it will be over now. I am in city/ country that we've had lockdowns more than anyone else. We are in 210 days lockdown , no school, no parties nothing. When all started I literally just moved out of home for the first time. I had high hopes of adult independence and now just prisoned in my apartment lol..We can't go further than 5km from home. Thank God vaccine for my age group has came out now. I am going to get vaccinated because it seem without it won't be able to do anything.

You are lucky that you can get one. Go for it as soon as you can. I am vaccinated but so many here refuse to take it. So sad.
ozgirl512 · 31-35, F
@MissElla yup... We are all in this together... Don't care where you live...

@ozgirl512 That's very true

Thank you for asking!

Your situation sounds so hard! We have never had that kind of serious lockdown in the part of Canada where I live.

I also have not personally lost anyone to covid, though I do know people who have had it, and I have friends in countries that have been very hard hit, like India and Brazil.

But even here it has still been very disruptive. I had to learn to do my job on line. Ordinary daily interactions became forbidden or filled with fear. The pandemic got into our dreams.

I am not yet convinced that the more drastic requirements or requests for distancing and isolation were justified. Although good for our physical health, they have been terrible for a lot of people's mental health.

The "messaging" from governments and public health authorities has often been confusing to the point where it feels like "gaslighting". Masks are the best example: at first we were told not to wear them because (confusingly) they a) wouldn't do any good and b) were needed by health care professionals. Then we were told that any kind of face covering would protect other people. Eventually we were told they would protect us too, but by then there were also various rules about how the masks should be made; I lost track at some point.

Our federal government has displayed characteristic hypocrisy by buying up vast supplies of vaccines, including some that were supposedly set aside for poorer countries, and NOT doing much at all to get vaccines to people in poorer countries. Of course this means the virus will continue to mutate in other parts of the world and all those variants will end up killing people here as well.

And it is depressing that this whole thing seems to be far from over!!

I hope you and yours get through it all OK.

@SW-User I hear you

every now and then they lock us in
we still go on, just with masks on and sanitizing

I’m thankful I live in America 🇺🇸 🙏
MissElla · 26-30, F
@Miklee02 I would say so but you guys had a fair share of political disruptions huh?
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@MissElla to say the least 😐

It's been a strange time. I have a job where I worked three days home and two in the office. I haven't been in my office since early March 2020 and not sure when we will go back. (I can easily do all aspects of my job remotely with no issues.). I had been going to the gym six days per week and the gyms closed for six months, so U created a home gym and ran outside. I didn't really see much of anyone for a long time, and haven't made it to a beach once the past two summers. Sometimes now I honestly just don't feel like doing some of those things even though we now can. I think I've grown disgusted with the way so many people have chosen to conduct themselves during this time and there's a part of me that's totally disinterested in "re-entering society". But I'm trying to work on that.
MissElla · 26-30, F
@NotJamieM I hear you and lots of 🤗...Hang in there hopefully all will be good again soon
NotJamieM · 46-50, M
@MissElla I certainly hope so. I've sadly list respect for quite a few people, and not be sure they believe something different than me but rather be ause of the way they've chosen to conduct themselves. Luckily, I enjoy things like hiking, that done necessarily require human interaction, lol. 🤣
TexChik · F
In Texas our worst issue is the government putting infected illegals in a random town and driving away .
MissElla · 26-30, F
@TexChik wuuuut? Really? That's bad
TexChik · F
@MissElla yes so is the Biden admin . They only put them in states that oppose them
MissElla · 26-30, F
@TexChik omg, that's terrible...*sigh*
Notanymore · 41-45, M
I miss concerts. Other than that, and the three montgs tgst the government payed me to do nothing. It hasn't really affected me
Notanymore · 41-45, M
@HoeBag blind mellon had one hit song in the 90s. It wasnthe least intelligible on a great blues album.
HoeBag · 51-55, F
@Notanymore I remember that song.
I might have to check out the other songs on there.

I wonder though with one hit wonders if the record label intentionally releases the worst song on an album? If so, why?
All speculation I suppose.
Notanymore · 41-45, M
@HoeBag usually it's earworm songs. Think of warrant. Cherry pie is godawful, but they were pretty much forced to record it for their album. Their other music is decent. Beck became famous for a goofy ass half rap song that he recorded before he ever had a major deal. They're just catchy and easy to bomb the radio with.
Well I’ll say this, and that is if our political leaders who rant about getting vaccinated and wearing masks; are seen violating the very rules and mandates they feel they can place on us but they themselves disregard, I lose faith in any of those people, and will not follow their dictatorial , tyrannical mandates and hypocrisy. This is what is going on in America.
MissElla · 26-30, F
@soar2newhighs haha we did catch one of our top politician violating mask rule too, you can imagine the backlash lol
@MissElla Did he give an explanation? Those who do; you got to give them credit for ingenuity when it comes to excuses. They’re masters at it!
HoeBag · 51-55, F
In the USA things are basically "normal" except a lot of companies require masks at work.

I am not sure why but the USA seemed to have the shortest lockdown of anywhere on the planet. I think ours lasted maybe two or three months before things eased up in stages.
PhaqueYou · M
@HoeBag the states... well in d.c. the lockdown lasted 16 months.
MissElla · 26-30, F
@HoeBag oh wow...So lucky
It been emotionally difficult as direct social interaction is something I need and I social distanced for more than a year. i got vaccinated but so many are not so this won't go away anytime soon. I hope you get to experience life the way it used to be.
MissElla · 26-30, F
@BiasForAction Thank you. I am getting my first shot this Friday as my age group just got approved to be vaccinated from today
SW-User
It honestly didn't affect anything when it came to my life. I was already heavily introverted, so I socialized online. The only major change for me was wearing a mask and getting a pair of vaccines.
MissElla · 26-30, F
@SW-User I totally understand and I am similar, is just having that choice taken away
SW-User
@MissElla I never really went out. Had no need to, outside of running specific errands.
Firegod74 · 51-55, M
My life hasn't changed at all but I live I. A rural area with few cases. We still camp, golf, sit around the campfire with guitars. No big deal really.
MissElla · 26-30, F
@Firegod74 I want to come where you are. It sounds amazing. My kind of place actually..I miss camping
Firegod74 · 51-55, M
@MissElla come on up. Bring a sweater it's kinda chilly.
SW-User

MissElla · 26-30, F
@SW-User lol..Are you vaccinated or going to? So if you are vaccinated you don't have to wear a mask?
SW-User
@MissElla I am vaccinated but i dont have a need to go out a lot
Keepitsimple · 56-60, F
I’m going on vacation in two weeks. I’m Vaccinated and I’m not looking back.
Keepitsimple · 56-60, F
@MissElla what country are you in?
Keepitsimple · 56-60, F

We are pretty much back to normal now.
Apart from masks in certain settings.
But it was truly awful for about 15 months.
MissElla · 26-30, F
@TheSirfurryanimalWales fir us hasn't stoped. We are 210 days so far lockdoen and prior we had 1 week but mask on and restaurants/clubs were still closed. We have 8.30 curfew and can't go past 5km from home . Supermarkets open but must register to enter and so are medical centres etc..oh and the fines are heavy if you try to sneak out lol
@MissElla that is awful
We have about 80% of the population vaccinated but some of that is worse than we ever had.
MissElla · 26-30, F
@TheSirfurryanimalWales *sigh* I've stoped questioning why and what's going on...
PhaqueYou · M
It's happened before.

And people get uppity when they must be forced to consider others well being.

Eh...
MissElla · 26-30, F
@PhaqueYou I do my bits I am just lonely af
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
It initially caused havoc at work! 🏥

It hurt me as a small business owner, I didn't have a job for a while, neither did my fiance.
SW-User
Last year I coped pretty well with it this year it’s been a struggle
MissElla · 26-30, F
@SW-User What changed?
SW-User
@MissElla I’m unsure I have done most this year in my whole life so far I’m unsure why I’m struggling
It really helps me determine who is good and who is evil. Who is prolife and who is prodisease.

It’s been a long 17 months so far

MissElla · 26-30, F
@scooogy no we are 210 days straight in lockdown and since all started we are lucky to have 1 month without restrictions and even then masks on and no big events
scooogy · 31-35, MVIP
@MissElla May I ask where you live?

@Stereoguy Omg, have you seen the airline tickets? I was going to try and get vaccinated then try to go to Europe and a ticket that used to be $1500 is now almost $20000 . Is insane!
