I have to disagree. Passive income that is reinvested doesn’t require exploitation. Stock market valuations in themselves don’t either.

@Bumbles 1. They do. 2. They don’t make billionaires.
Bumbles · 51-55, M
@AlienTheExtraterrestrial Well, I can’t really argue with that. I concede the point.

Most, if not all had a huge helping hand without lifting a finger: inheritance. However, 'rich' and 'poor' are not fixed concepts and 'innocence' and 'ignorance' come into play when deciding moral responsibility.

Not necessarily true but often is
@Convivial Those like Bezos, Jobs, Wozniack, Gates, Musk, and many others, got their money legitimately and helped others, without Elon's starlink those from last year's hurricanes would have died, and they put people to work, while those like Warren Buffet, cut jobs, those are the ones we should hate.

Most got rich off government contracts and tell us they're "self made.". Billionaires should not exist.

@bijouxbroussard when i go to the opera, museum, etc., and see the list of donors, i do think about how much i could donate if it were a richer man?
bijouxbroussard · F
@samueltyler2 I understand. I think about that regarding the shelter where I sometimes volunteer. I donate what I can, but I often imagine how much good could be done.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@bijouxbroussard we do donate, about 10% of our income.

That fact is why they want us to stay asleep and hating each other
