Why is there so much hate for trans people.

We are not even .08% of the population in the US but this is all they can focus on. we have bigger issues like growing homeless, rise in food and living cost and the rise in rent and house cost. Yet people want to control my life and tell me what i cant and cant be. Im lucky I live in cali and im half way done with my transition. There is all this negative news its scary.
Not gonna lie: i have trouble thinking of a trans woman as a woman or a trans man as a man. I wish i didn't.
But i absolutely do not get how people can be so hateful and hurtful about it.
Like pronouns, for example. The fucking soap box some of these bigots get on about not calling a trans woman she/her. Like get a grip and show a little human decency and basic respect to address a person how they want to be addressed.
There are indeed much bigger issues. But for whatever reason, these people are getting outraged about someone identifying as another gender and not about kids getting killed in school or people choosing between death and bankruptcy because of a broken healthcare system.
@Chelsiegirl

I would never be shitty to a trans person because of my own hangups.
I wish more people would do the same.
Chelsiegirl · 46-50, T
@Pikachu Im the same as u. i treat everyone the same with respect. But at the same time im cautious of others.
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@Pikachu I agree. Cruelty is never acceptable. After that, I may disagree with some things, but being kind is number 1.
Blame the PR department..

FYI I dont hate anybody..
maybe billionaires..

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout I hate alot of people too..
3Dogmatic · 46-50, M
There are too many small minded people in this world. People should be judged on their character and behavior only. The trans people I know are awesome people. That being said, I will have a beer with anyone.
Chelsiegirl · 46-50, T
@3Dogmatic thats so nice thanks.. i hope the worlds changes one day
3Dogmatic · 46-50, M
@Chelsiegirl I hope it does too. Once people free their minds, the world will improve remarkably I think.
Fear is often the true basis of hate, and people often fear what they don’t understand. I get that knowing this doesn’t make the bias any easier to deal with. There are aspects I still don’t understand, but I’m convinced that people have more in common than not, and I work from that premise.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
Unfortunately their cause has been usurped by political PACs and obnoxious activists who have completely lost the script.

Your cause isn't being helped by transgenders competing in female sports and unfairly dominating them due to their physical advantages.

I've spoken to older transgender people, and they are lovely and reasonable, and seem to only want to exist and get along without being bullied or shamed for their choices.

I totally support this ideal and believe people can refer to themselves how they wish, and do what they want, save hurting/harming others.

But I've noted there are activists who wish to usurp the natural order and demand everyone see things from their skewed and biased perspective...there is no gender and anyone who chooses to identify as male or female is "cis-gendered".

I don't appreciate being labeled that way. I am a man, a male and I expect people to refer to me that way, if you expect me to refer to you by your preferred pronouns.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@SumKindaMunster well said
Justforfun65 · 56-60, M
I think trans people are awesome don’t let hater’s bother you life is too short you be you
Justforfun65 · 56-60, M
@Chelsiegirl yes it does I hope things change for the better
Chelsiegirl · 46-50, T
@Justforfun65 Thanks.. i keep to myself most of the time.. i live a simple life.
Justforfun65 · 56-60, M
@Chelsiegirl if you ever just need someone to talk to I’m around a lot
Every transphobe I have come across actually likes hating people because that want to see people in pain. They are sadists.
Chelsiegirl · 46-50, T
@canusernamebemyusername thats a very true.. i have never seen it that way
SatanBurger · 36-40, FVIP
It's magnified by people ten fold so it seems bigger than what it is, also there's certain elements who want others to believe that trans people are a threat. There's also way more stupid people than we think out there, I mean a lot so that's part of the problem there.
Chelsiegirl · 46-50, T
@3Dogmatic I was bullied when i was younger. As a adult i have tried to overcome that part of my life but part of it will always be with me.

@Chelsiegirl That is unfortunate. It shouldn’t be that way at all.
JestAJester · 31-35, M
No hate here. What I hate is seeing the acceptance stuff on the media all the time. I do not have to agree with any of this stuff. It's not hate speech, I simply have different views and do not accept or agree what is being pushed. Not what you're pushing per se, but what the media pushes. What I hate is the media trying to push on us trans men are men and trans women are women. No, no they're not. DNA does not lie. What I hate is "Oh we gotta cast a character to represent the black community or the LGBT community or the trans community or the handicap community." Can I just enjoy my show without some propaganda being jammed down my throat?
Imsleepy · 31-35
No hate here.
* Proceeds to be hateful

What an idiot.
@JestAJester
Chelsiegirl · 46-50, T
@JestAJester I just want to live my motherfucking life lol

It's a wedge issue that gets exploited because it distracts from more consequential issues. People will ignore economic exploitation if they think trans people and gays are coming to get them and their kids. 🙄
OggggO · 36-40, M
Because y'all are easy to single out as "different", and fear of the unknown is a very deep rooted instinct in a lot of people.
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
I don't even think they do, it's just become a political talking point so if you're on the right you moan about trans people and if you're on the left you argue about it. Like out of everyone they're the one group of people who don't really want the attention and wanna get on with their lives so it must be frustrating.
Chelsiegirl · 46-50, T
@Ryannnnnn wow your totally right.. most of us just want to be left alone so we can live our lives the way we want to.
Lostpoet · M
No hate it's just that not everyone can relate so people don't understand why some days I look like sht and don't talk to anyone because they don't know what depression is like.

@Lostpoet the news is depressing..
Lostpoet · M
@Chelsiegirl Trans issues is kinda a new thing in the mainstream you just have to give people time to adjust.
Torsten · 36-40, M
personally to me its the radical activists that I have issues with not trans people in general. I am firmly against children medically transitioning but as a adult, I am supportive of those who do.
To be completely honest my only issues are when children are involved
BigAssLeech · 31-35, M
It's an easy culture war issue to latch onto and use as leverage when it comes time to win over Republican votes. Blaming LGBTQ+ people, black people, Muslims, Mexicans, etc. for the problems in our country is easier than actually creating legislation to fix those issues

I don't want to be cynical, but maybe it's ineptitude? Lack of empathy? I remember coming out of a bar one night, of course, well for me at least somewhat jovial... I met a few people chatty, so I chatted with them, so as I walked with them, the drunk girl wanted to give the homeless person money (that's fine, though questionable if she would if not drunk, but I don't try to measure that way), she proceeded to try and wake the guy sleeping. Her friend stepped in, leave him alone, and I had to say it's entirely fine if you want to give him money but your charity is not worth you waking him up on a cold January night when he has finally found sleep.
Imsleepy · 31-35
I think religion is the root cause. These people are brainwashed from birth with bigoted and hateful ideology. Some are smart enough to shed that programming but most just grow up and continue being trash.
Dino11 · M
Too many grew up homophobic, right or wrong for many this is a shock to their system,
this has came a long way in my lifetime, and will only get better for those involved.
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
Why does it seems as if there are more trans people today than there was in the past? There are about 8,000,000,000 people in the world so all countries should have the same ratio of trans people because we are all humans. Or is this just a problem in America? Is it because of the food the kids eat? Or is it because of something else like an evolutionary change?
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@SatanBurger Well, things are getting to be more tolerated except for in the Red States. Maybe humans will achieve equality in another 100,000 years.
SatanBurger · 36-40, FVIP
@Diotrephes Yeah for me I wouldn't feel the need to fight if some politician wasn't trying to put anti gay laws out consistently. All this kind of just makes everyone defensive. Like we have the constitution but it doesn't seem set in stone, like we have that plus state rights so if one thing says another and one state wants another thing, we have several states that seem to develop into a cult or something.
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@SatanBurger One of the favorite hobbies of social animals such as humans is to control who others can have sex with. It is an ingrained behavior and requires a conscious effort to change. Most people operate in the default mode and try to control others' behaviors.
chubbysteve99 · 51-55, M
they are scared of what they do not know, so dont worry about them
chubbysteve99 · 51-55, M
@Chelsiegirl that is not an issue here
Chelsiegirl · 46-50, T
@chubbysteve99 That is part of the issue also.
chubbysteve99 · 51-55, M
@Chelsiegirl i know
SW-User
I swear, they see anyone being different and get upset, it's awful
Bushranger · 70-79, M
I'm going to preface this by saying that I'm fully supportive of trans people, but I'd like to ask you if you think it's more of an issue with MtoF people? I wouldn't be surprised if it is a male hegemony thing. But I'm happy that you have found who you need to be.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
It was my fault.. it was late at night
It was not your fault!

I am not sure why people have a problem with this. I am glad you can be who you know you are.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
The Republican party literally tells their constituents that y'all are trying to convert cisgender kids and brainwash them like it's some kind of cult. It's pathetic.
@LordShadowfire I think that when Ted Cruz asked Ketanji Brown Jackson (Nominee for SCOTUS) "What is a woman? He wanted a legal term for woman to use against trans people. I wonder how he would have answered and how he would have answered "What is a man?"
FeetAreFantastic · 41-45, M
People hate what they don't understand. And that applies everywhere, not just in the US. There is hate against trans, gays, blacks, Jews.... and I think there always will be. I agree it is sad and unfair. I think it is important to remain true to yourself, do what you want to do, be who you want to be, and not care what others think. I now that is easier said than done, but I do think it is the only way. It is the same as the life lesson: accept the things you cannot change.

Thankfully not all people are like this and I do think overall there is more acceptance than there used to be.
Lilnonames · F
I think all trans people should take over a state and run it there own way
Chelsiegirl · 46-50, T
@Lilnonames Well i live in cali. that is the closest thing.
