I’ve only known a small number of people from

The LGBTQ community and always supported their rights. But I don’t think pride is the best word to let their truth be treated with the respect they deserve. Pride is a sin and the deadliest of sins. In this context it’s also combative. I think, born, would be better word. It’s reflective of the scientific fact that it comes from their biology and is not a choice. But it is the choice of their parents to abandoned them if they do such a “horrible thing”

I kind of see what you mean, about pride not being the "best" word. As someone else mentioned though, when people have been ridiculed and treated as if they should be ashamed of something about themselves that is just part of who they are? When it's something about themselves that harms no one?

One of the antonyms for shame, is pride.

@MalteseFalconPunch Pride is the first step to discrimination. Pride leads to a false sense of self-worth. If someone has pride someone only cares about themself.

If they're raised to be ashamed of who they are - then pride could be a way of claiming back that part of themselves.

Equally, they could choose to call the collective group of themselves a pride... just like a pride of lions.

In any case, it's not for you to be casting judgement and telling them what they can and cannot do.

pride is a way of us having a voice too..

@Chelsiegirl pride allowed the Japanese to rape thousands of Chinese women. Pride makes people treat others with cruelty.
