I’ve only known a small number of people from

The LGBTQ community and always supported their rights. But I don’t think pride is the best word to let their truth be treated with the respect they deserve. Pride is a sin and the deadliest of sins. In this context it’s also combative. I think, born, would be better word. It’s reflective of the scientific fact that it comes from their biology and is not a choice. But it is the choice of their parents to abandoned them if they do such a “horrible thing”

I kind of see what you mean, about pride not being the "best" word. As someone else mentioned though, when people have been ridiculed and treated as if they should be ashamed of something about themselves that is just part of who they are? When it's something about themselves that harms no one?

One of the antonyms for shame, is pride.
