Came out as bisexual yesterday

I came out as bisexual yesterday and it has been acceptance late in my life from my brothers. My brothers accepted it on the spot. Mom, it was tough on her and it is going to take time for her to accept it. Going to give her space and time to think about it. I knew that I was bisexual while in the military, Marines and did not come in the military at the time due to the don't ask don't tell law that was in effect. I did have a girlfriend that I was dating during that time too. My brothers knew I was different and experimented a lot growing up. My son, he is cool about it and still sees me like any normal mom

When I was 19 and had my first experience with an older woman, while at university I considered myself bisexual and had relationships with both men and women For a number of years, though deep down I knew was really lesbian, as I was afraid to fully come out at the time.

A year or two later I did come out fully to my older brother, who was very accepting and encouraging and I only admitted to my mother that I was bisexual because I couldn't fully admit that I was lesbian to her for another 10 years or so. Finally when I did come out to her, it was tough for her to accept for a while, but then she saw and met my partner and now my wife, the woman I was truly in love with and so that helped and she accepted me eventually for who I was.

I wish you well and I'm sure she will come round to accepting you and your sexuality. Wishing you the best and happiness moving forward.
Our parents are of a different generation and mindset due to the cultural norms at the time. You know your mom loves you deeply, and she will be accepting in time.

@BizSuitStacy I know that and I am not forcing her on coming to terms to this

I’m not bi but I have no problem accepting people who are. To me it seems like one of the most respectful and reasonable sexuality, just not born style.

Finding out mom is coming to terms about it slowly starting to accept it one step at a time. We talked today and said it to me. I am proud of her on it and still giving her time and space on this

I know all about the Marines back then, and it stopped nothing.
