I just googled "husband meaning" and result shows "a man that a woman is married to". New generation requires new definitions of social terms, even google can't keep up with the trends.

@ABCDEF7 Hmm, so neither of the men are by definition Husband??
ABCDEF7 · M
@Su0Morrello I guess there should be a different role names for then other than husband & wife. It would be better for clarity.

They're both guys, so they're both husbands. And a lesbian couple are both wifes when married.

If they decide to call one partner one thing and the other something else, that's their choice and only goes for that particular couple.

Aren’t married guys husbands and married gals wife’s no matter what.
In the gay marriages I know - if men, both refer to the other as husband, if women, both are referred to as 'my wife.'

Male spouse is a husband, female spouse is wife. Male/male both are husbands. Female /female both are wives.
Words are hard, I know.

@SW-User Not hard, just wanted clarification!

Everything ok at home? 🤷‍♀️

@Harriet03 Perfect! Its just a question I wanted to know about because I hear this all the time and nobody had an answer, at least in the straight community.

They're both husbands.

The obvious answer has been mentioned multiple times now. The real question is why you thought there was a husband and wife in gay couples.
Dave9970 · 36-40, M
@SW-User because thats what they call each other, or haven't you noticed???
SW-User
@Dave9970 No, I haven't noticed. All gay couples I know call each other husband and all lesbian couples I know call each other wife or hersband.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
They are both called "husband". And with lesbians, both are "wife".
Straylight · 31-35, F
They're both the husband or wife.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
Who cares? 🤔
They’re basically called whatever they wanna be called. There are no rules when it comes down to it.
Cloudiness · 26-30, F

@Straylight Hahaha

I’m guessing here but one will have more masculine traits and the other more feminine traits. If they are equal, both spouse or both husband. Women would refer to each other as wife and wife.
Ishtar · 22-25, F
Probably it's the dominant one that's called husband I guess.
