Another mass shooting 12 minutes ago on Memorial Day Festival in Oklahoma 7 shot, one dead

All Americans should be armed These cowards would think twice about shooting anyone
All Americans should be armed These cowards would think twice about shooting anyone
What a tremendously stupid idea. The Uvalde shooter was surrounded by well-armed and trained firearms users, and it didn't accomplish a damn thing.

Moreover, you know how the right wing is always spouting off "you can't make me do this, you can't make me do that, because LiBuRtEe"? Well guess what, you can't force me to have a damn firearm either.

@Tres13
TexChik · F
@SW-User Apparently not. The Uvalde police department appears to be completely incompetent and unwilling to protect the lives of innocent children. A teacher violated protocol and propped a locked door open so she could go get her phone and the schools SRO wasnt even in the building...all at the same time. The local police all stayed outside out of the fray while children were being shot. A guy (border patrol with swat training) drove an hour to get there, put on his equipment, walked in and shot the shooter in just a few minutes, by himself. The solution was in place, the people hired to carry it out were incompetent.
Carazaa · F
@TexChik I would agree with that the police were not doing their job protecting anyone at all that day, for some reason. I do believe police should use their weapons when someone is shooting, but I still don't think anyone else needs a gun, or at least they need to be highly regulated and registered. And no one with a criminal record or under 25 should have one.
Vin53 · M
The 2nd amendment is a curse upon this country.
Carazaa · F
@TexChik
haha you sound like FOX news, you're hilarious. No women are scared in Sweden. It has a lot less crime than the USA. Don't believe everything you hear. Ask people over there and check your information before you repeat lies you've heard somewhere. It's not as safe as it use to be but it doesn't come close to the USA. Europeans are very critical of themselves and they don't pretend there aren't any problems when there are.

You can not get arrested for disagreeing with your government in western Europe, only in some eastern European countries, like Russia. They are very different than Western Europeans.
SW-User
@Carazaa
like in other western countries where there are very few mass killing.
I agree, although I would change “very few” to “no”. These mass killings only happen in one so-called Western country: America
TexChik · F
@Carazaa again, you have no clue what you are talking about. Jolly old england will arrest you for bashing their covid laws publicly. Have you considered the size of Sweden? Its smaller than Texas and has 14 million less people than Texas. Obviously, their crime rate will be lower.
carpediem · 61-69, M
See how many die in Chicago this weekend. No one will bat an eye over it.

Update.
52 shot and ten deceased.

“About half of those shot were on the West Side, most of them in a single police district, the 11th, where there were two mass shootings on Sunday. On the South Side, at least 14 people were shot. And downtown, where there has been a spike in shootings all year, four people were hit by gunfire.”

No one cares.

@carpediem

Deflection noted. You fixate on the fact that I'm Irish rather than address my points. Well, that sounds like a whole lot of "not my problem" :P

Also, I'm not the one politicizing anything. The only people who politicize this event are right-wing fuckwits like you, who will blame anyone or anything rather than face up to the fact that the real reason America has mass shootings almost every week is because your gun laws amount to shit... I'm happy to stay in nice, safe Ireland, and when I have children I will send them to school safe in the knowledge that they do not need body armour, bullet proof backpacks, armed teachers, or God help us, fewer doors, to keep them safe.

Until America tightens its gun laws, it will remain a lawless, barbaric Banana Republic.
Carazaa · F
@SW-User Yes America is behind the rest of the industrial countries in many areas sadly,
carpediem · 61-69, M
@SW-User Funny, millions of Irish immigrated to the US. I don’t see many flocking back from this “barbaric banana republic “. In fact every year millions come here most illegally.

There are reasons we have a second amendment. You’d never understand them of course. Dumb ass kid that you are.
America is paying a very high price for The right to bare arms.
This right was what won The War of Independence.
I get it

So, is this right to bare arms doing any good as intended by The founding fathers of America?
Only Americans can answer.
Carazaa · F
@SW-User It is so sad and it has to change!
TexChik · F
@Carazaa again you have no idea what you are talking about. Must be a democrat. 🙄

My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song." Psalm 28:7
1500 people in attendance and still not enough good guys with guns? 🙄
SW-User
@NerdyPotato The answer to bad guys with guns is not good guys with guns: it's NO GUNS!!!
Tres13 · 51-55, M
No Bigger guns@SW-User
@Tres13 I hope that's sarcasm 🙄
Expect 20 more before midterms..
I’d just stay home until after everyone votes if I was American

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout This shit is catching, I swear, it's like a riot. Once one shooter starts, others follow
kodiac · 22-25, M
Where is god?.
Carazaa · F
@kodiac God is mad at us because we don't love him, or each other. We worship violence, guns, and war.
kodiac · 22-25, M
@Carazaa God isn't supposed to get mad. You seriously believe it has emotions like humans? Either god loves unconditionally or not at all.
Iwillwait · M
@kodiac GOD is "Here," GOD is "There," GOD will not take "Free Will," away from "Man/WoMan." It is so unfortunate that the choice was made and despite all efforts to reach that individual has not penetrated deep enough to cause them to turn away from their sinful choice.

Truly tragic
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
Gosh there always sad news. Man this breaks my heart.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
Some clown with a gun was shooting downtown the other evening. This is in Canada. We are not allowed to have guns. Especially not handguns. Guess what he used a handgun. I guess he didn't study law.
Carazaa · F
@BohemianBoo There have been 217 mass shootings the last 5 months in the USA,

Oh well-. I'm for not having weapons and using words-. Conservatives think it's never going to be time to stop the killing.
We're in the losing majority, over here.

@SW-User It's a super easy issue that western Europe solved many years ago!
Rokasu · 36-40, M
So like what do we do to stop this.
Rokasu · 36-40, M
@SW-User Easier said than done. Probably evidence it hasn't really worked in other countries necessarily. Might be better governance or something.

Bottom line is banning guns in America isn't an easy feat. So if you want it, then you need to do more than just say you do.
SW-User
@Rokasu Well I'm not American, but I do know that guns were banned in the UK in 1997 just weeks after a school shooting left 16 children dead. There have been no mass shootings since. Also, this year, America has had more than 17,000 gun related deaths; the UK has had 4...
Changeisgonnacome · 61-69, F
@Rokasu disarm. It'll be a relief.
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
[c=800000]I wonder about some of this. I saw a post in Uber Facts. Day 145 of the year... 244 school shootings or mass shootings. I replied, "I question these statistics." [/c]
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@SW-User [c=800000]And Biden's 80,000,000 vote total! [/c]
🤡
SW-User
@ProfessorPlum77 Sorry that I’ve triggered you 🤭, but you have to face up to reality: Trump lost.
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@SW-User [c=800000]Triggered me? You give yourself WAY too much credit, my friend. [/c]

Sounds like the biden crime family is sponsoring mass shootings

Just another day in America
strongbow · 46-50, M
I'm just glad it was a black guy shooting and not a white dude. If it were a white dude we would here about this for weeks, but because it's a black dude we may have to see this story for a couple days before it fades into nothing.
Carazaa · F
@strongbow I wouldn't call me a" liberal", but I do believe in a strong caring government, yes I do. Why? because people left with guns kill when mad, and people are like 2 year old toddlers they don't like to be told what to do even when its best for them. Take Trump for instance, he was fined for contempt, imagine what a sad state of affairs when a leader is so immature that he throws a tantrum and is now a criminal in contempt of court. And at the NRA convention he said that law abiding citizens could "carry" a gun, which now excludes him. Shameful!
strongbow · 46-50, M
@Carazaa Way to try to attempt to strawman your way out of this topic but fail miserably, typical liberal
SW-User
@strongbow what's a "less triggering" way to bring up the topic of gun control with constantly triggered and enflamed right wing culture warriors?
