Did you have Gmail back when it was cool?

I can't remember the circumstances, to be honest. I DO remember that back then it was "@googlemail" which was a pain to type lo

Had two Hotmail accounts that eventually I could never get access to. Mostly because they finally disallowed certain characters in usernames and passwords.

I initially did it that way because few knew about special characters and would never get hacked.

Now I do have a Netscape email account that I have had for thirty years. Several companies have bought out that domain name. Yet it's still active.

I still have Gmail lol

I was a grad student when it was being rolled out, and we were offered it on beta test or something similar. That would have been in the later 90's I think.

I somehow managed to hold on to my university email account for 10 years after I graduated. When I learned it was to be deleted, I signed up in panic to gmail, the first service that came to hand 😐

I've had a gmail account for about 14 years to use for my writing but I rarely look at it. I always have to go back through old diaries to find my password.
