I don’t have any paid services except YouTube premium. No Netflix, no Disney just YouTube. It’s around $20 and no commercials. Had Netflix, but often couldn’t find anything I wanted to watch. I can always find something on YouTube.

I have ad and script blocker extensions in my desktop Firefox to block YouTube etc ads.

No ads plus no subscription. If I choose to support content creators I like I will do that directly and not through youtube's monetised ad revenue clickbait platform.

On a computer or an android - firefox with ublock origin may help. I use those.

AND if you also install sponsor block - that skips over some of the in-video ads that are narratted by the person doing the video, like when they start in about shavers or some stup*d VPN.
Part of the video navigation bar will be green, that is the part with those particular ads.

ON a TV, I have no advice, hopefully someone does, I do not use streaming or even watch TV much.

I hate tutorials or informational videos being interrupted by them.

It’s kinda tickled me that they can’t figure out what to target at me. Like, what makes them think I’m G5 Jet shopping? 🤣

Block that shit.
