Instead of just dinner dates and small talk, try doing something active together...like a day trip, going to a festival, or even a short adventure like hiking or skiing.
When people are engaged in an activity, they tend to drop their guard and be more real. You’ll learn much more about them through how they act, handle situations, and interact naturally. It’s a practical way to really get to know someone.

I totally understand! I have no idea of you age and that is cool. For me I turned 60 May 11th, 2025, and I quit looking and trying the dating scene 11 years ago and I have been single for 18 years now.
Like You I get the What is your name, favorite color, what do you do for fun, what do you do for a living, what do you drive, do you own your home or rent questions as being a total waste of time for me too. What I want is a deep thoughtful conversation with meaning and connection with things like: Hey, I am a heterosexual cross dresser would you date me as one, and go out with me cross dressed? What are your life plans and goals? Where do you want to see yourself living and how do you see yourself living with a mate? Things that matter, not the casual feeling out crap. As well as the, would you stop cross dressing if we dated and not do that around me stuff. Nope I have not time to change and alter who I am ever again just to be miserable inside myself.
So, I just stay single mind my own business and I do the things that make me and my world happy and complete.

I've never gone through the dating scene like a normal person. I've never had that experience. I'm afraid of it, honestly. Especially now. But I'm also afraid of spending the rest of my life alone.

@LordShadowfire I have been in it and done that from marriage through divorce and raising the kids on my own thing post retiring from my career.
I will take being alone over being miserable and unmatched life and lifestyle wise. No more will I give and give and give and then to be denied by my mate for my needs and wishes.
Never!

It’s a strange place to be, I don’t have the energy either.
