Have you ever thought of the day you die?

How that moment will be? will you be scared?
Or do you rather not think about it?
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Yes, for many years I was convinced it would be my asthma that takes me but now I'm more worried it will be my heart.

I've gone into cardiac arrest before after an asthma attack, and from what I do remember before I passed out- it was one of the scariest things I've experienced. Until I passed out, and then it was just over and I'd have died had my dad not done cpr.

I've come to realize how fast it can happen and now stay weirdly calm in my worst attacks [which thankfully are rare]. I won't have the fear like I did before for myself... my fears now are more for my kid having to go through the remainder of her childhood and early adulthood without a mother because that very thing f*ed me up pretty bad.

@Starcrossed I really felt what you said😌. Hope you are well now .

I've already had a stroke. There was no pain at all. I slumped to the floor from my chair and was unable to move for maybe 15 minutes. My speech was slurred for a week or so. That was it.

If that's the way I go, then that's the way I want to go.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@SW-User Sounds like a good way to go. You have a good attitude about dying. Life sucks. Nothing worthwhile to hang on to.

@sree251

Thanks, but... find something, anything you like to do or watch or whatever and enjoy it. Please?
sree251 · 41-45, M
@SW-User I appreciate your concern and encouragement but I am not depressed about anything. Personally, I am living a great life regardless of the fact that being alive has no upside. It's like living on the high wire. One wrong move and I end up with pain and poverty. I see misery everywhere around me. And it's all our fault. We Americans have a blessed and beautiful country; and yet, we keep fighting wars all the time instead of taking care of our bottom 10% of the nation. It's so sad.

I suppose we never truly know until we get there, but I don't imagine I'll be bothered too much. Maybe it'll be something sudden, like a car accident or a heart attack. Maybe it'll be something drawn out, like cancer. Maybe nothing so dramatic. But I don't think I'll be afraid. Everyone always talks about where we go when we die, but do you remember where you were before you were born? We fear the unknown, but it's not unknown. Not really. The end of our existence isn't the strange part. We didn't exist for the vast majority of time the universe has been around. Our lives are just a fleeting moment. I see death as a return to normalcy. Going back home. So while I'm not racing to get there, I'm not bothered by the idea of it. I had the chance to see and hear and experience some very beautiful things. That will have to be enough. That is enough.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@SW-User Good attitude. Life sucks. Death ends the nightmare.
Coralmist · 41-45, F
I am afraid yes..because I have barely lived. I have had anxiety so many years that has kept me stuck and small..to think about death in addition, its just defeating and I can't think of it 🙁
Renkon · 36-40, M
@Coralmist We should be worried of life. Death is just a moment where one life ends and another begins.
I think about it all the time.
I'll be elated.
The other side will be so much better than this cartoon reality.
Renkon · 36-40, M
@PhoenixPhail How sure are you?
@Renkon Very.

The way it’s going…. 🫣
Doomflower · 36-40, M
I nearly died in a car wreck once. I was awake one second and gone the next. It wasn't scary. Waking up was scary. I was in a shitload of pain. It took months to recover and in terms of the brain damage it took years before I was able to control my rage and I became intensely depressed which is something I still struggle with to this day.

Only recently have I started enjoying life again. I hope when I die for real it is quick or in my sleep. I hope I don't know it is imminent.
No. There’s too much to come betwee. Now and then.
Renkon · 36-40, M
@ShellSeeker Thats true isn't it?
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
Yup. I'd be happy. Want to just be gone.
TexChik · F
It probably won't be my best day.
Renkon · 36-40, M
@TexChik Sorry….Hope they are now on Gods side.
TexChik · F
@Renkon They were angels for me ( they were my adoptive parents) and saved my life and made it worth while. They were Christians and very kind.
Renkon · 36-40, M
@TexChik They raised you well. I can sense that. I believe they were good parents and greater human beings.
ravenhill · 46-50, M
NO, because i know this life is not the end, we continue on to new destinies all to be in the heavenly realm of god after this life.
Renkon · 36-40, M
@ravenhill That's so positivity there. But how sure can we of the time after our death? How many have come back from that heavenly realm to speak about it?
emperorlily · 22-25, F
I think about it all the time! like pretty much every morning I'm like "i could die today"
Renkon · 36-40, M
@emperorlily If I may ask, why do you feel so?
emperorlily · 22-25, F
@Renkon it's good practice!
Renkon · 36-40, M
@emperorlily O' that way. It's keeps you grounded. It shows you how valuable each moment is. Nice thought.
smiler2012 · 56-60
{@renkon] it has come too mind but never thought about it too deeply 😆god willing i have a bit of time left before i cross that bridge
Renkon · 36-40, M
@smiler2012 hope for the best😀
CherAdams · 51-55, F
I only fear my loved ones will miss me.
No matter how difficult life is , I'm here for them
And that puts me in survival mode
sree251 · 41-45, M
@CherAdams Your loved ones will go with you when you die.

You are the world, and the world is you. Even the stars, the sun, the moon, and the Earth will vanish along with you. Does that mean life ends with you? No. Life is eternal. You are an incident of life. Like a particular rose in bloom, you live, wither, and die taking all your petals with you. The rose is eternal, it can never die.
Muthafukajones · 46-50, M
I’ve wondered if death is like choking while unable to move or breathe or see. It’s terrifying.
Gloomy · F
Don't know where, don't know how and don't know when but what I do know is that it will be suicide
Detrimentalpineapple · 22-25, F
I believe that when we die we become nothing. So I think I'd be ready for it.
@Detrimentalpineapple It works the other way. When we "die," we reemerge into the fullness of our being. It's only your body that dies. You're not your body.
SW-User
I think about it often enough since I'm really uncomfortable with the idea of death
Yes... Generally if I can get through another day...
akindheart · 61-69, F
I am too busy living thank God
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
I sometime wish i could just go now.
Lostpoet · M
It already happened
Renkon · 36-40, M
@Lostpoet Really? Why do you say so?
I just worry for my child.
Renkon · 36-40, M
@V00doo But she should be grown and independent girl by then. Don't you think? May be when that time comes She would hold your old hands, while stroking you sliver hair, to let you know everything is fine. I bet your grand child will be smiling at you on the other side of you bed. So why worry?
@Renkon Of course. Doesnt mean I'll stop worrying about her
Renkon · 36-40, M
@V00doo 🙂...I know. Which mother won't? They never stop right? When she were wiggling in your tummy, you are worried. Her first step, each sneeze in the middle of the night is a nightmare for you. Not to mention when she hit teen. Drives you crazy. There is no end to it. But isn't that part of your job description? 🙂... Hope everything is fine.
