What does this even mean??? How much have you accomplished to help others?? Or are you just a hater on those who are different from you??
Let me add that diversity and honoring differences has actually helped the world in countless ways--there is NOT only one way to do things, and sometimes the accepted way does not lead to progress. The more divergent ideas we consider the more progress we will make! It is exactly that clash of ideas that produces growth and new ideas.

I think most of your premises are wrong and I don't clearly see what they have to do with DEI.

@Therealsteve I too have written academic theses and held positions of responsibility. None of these things gives either of us a guarantee of being right. (I majored in physics as an undergrad; shall I explain how Einstein was wrong about quantum mechanics?)
OK, so lemme ignore all the infighting, and fill in the gap for me right here. How does right and wrong answers, linear programming, and tree traversal relate to DEI? Just say it here and now.

@ElwoodBlues And I've never expressed doubt of that. Hence you can produce the text that you did, instead of making the weird accusations and obfuscations that Jim did.
The specific screenshot was the proof of my degree, not that specifically data trees directly relate to DEI. Which was in relation to his personal attacks. He continued to ignore what I said, throwing more personal attacks. And so the conversation was derailed from anything related being said. Which was his point, as he doesn't know what he's talking about. But his ego couldn't take that, he still had to be the smartest, and correct (without being able to explain why) hence the degree came up. Of which he then days later decided to lie about, finally claiming he had one, after days of obvious ignorance of the topic.
I'm happy to DM over it, but I don't want it disturbed by someone as negative as that guy.

@ElwoodBlues You reminded me of something that always brings a smile.
In college, my boyfriend double-majored in physics and IT. Once on a run to Dairy Queen, he spilled his milkshake. Instead of the normal mild panic, he watched the shake change and disperse, enthralled.
He said, “Heavens to physics!”

I have a degree I have never felt led to display as proof I am smart.
If I AM smart, other people may notice, and they may not. A degree or a dozen degrees have precious little to do with wisdom.

Absolute nonsense. All this shows is that you don't value beliefs and efforts to create a more inclusive society.
Incidentally, you were calling last week for polygamy to be tolerated and legalised. So DEI is convenient when it supports your own values?

@SunshineGirl If you think that, I recommend you take the education degree I have. Ironically for you, I am the safeguarding lead of a whole state for an ambulance training and administration organization. It involves developing and administering DEI related principles across a whole state's functions in the best-regulated way, whilst also best regulated against the other responsibilities and values of the organizations.
Funny that I'm doing exactly what you say I should do whilst you tell me what I'm apparently doing. Remind me of your DEI related qualifications and experience, again.

@Therealsteve So what are the principles that you are implementing? Why do you feel the need to derogate the "diversity crowd" . . or anyone else for that matter?
I am a senior leader in a sector of the financial services industry that has traditionally been dominated by men (an imbalance of around 73:27) for no apparent reason other than a culture of rampant sexism used to exclude women from high paying jobs. I am a mentor to young women lookimg for advice and moral support in the early stages of their careers, and an advocate for safer workplaces.
Incidentally, few people in Europe had heard of "DEI" until Trump's acolytes tried telling us it is a bad idea. Now it is all the rage in the corporate sector 🙂

DEI is when we see the best of humanity
@Therealsteve I don't need to debate you on this . I said what I said . Have a great day

@Therealsteve Good & bad are qualitative descriptors, not quantitative descriptors.
Therealsteve · 31-35, M
@BlueVeins You can quantify them. Of course, there are qualitative, however a group of people can come together and decide upon a quantitative definition of both and work toward and support each other in moving up to and then maintaining them.

The axiomatic statement that begins the post is open to question, more a statement of personal value than objective fact, so the whle argument is specious.
Therealsteve · 31-35, M
@ChipmunkErnie Okay, explain how anything of meaning doesn't exclude that which doesn't contribute the meaning.
Also, all statements are "axiomatic".

ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@Therealsteve False statements are not axiomatic, simply false. And the very terms "meaning" and "value" are subject, and so perhaps true to you, but not necessarily to someone else. Where you see value and meaning, someone else might see neither.
