Depends on the area. Most certainly not around Nome Alaska. I can't stand sub artic temperatures. Yet I have lived in smaller towns before.

If I were able bodied and the land was "productive" in some way I might have considered it. But being wheelchair bound I'm not going to be able to provide for myself in a remote area.
