@Shadyglow I won't comment on that, but, you do know that the fossil fuel companies are making more money then they ever have! corporate profits in general have skyrocketed over the past decade. At the same time, corporate taxes have decreased, that has placed our economy into a precarious position.
Shadyglow · F
@samueltyler2 Dr Taylor... I know that.

$967.47 cents for my monthly mortgage on my farm of 47 acres with two homes (My old junk home and the new one I am building on it) four other barns and builds. In Southern Ohio, USA and nowhere near a city.

The new build I have been doing all by myself out of pocket without loans and why it has taken 5 years to get to this point.

My mortgage is 2100 per month with 9 years left
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
@HumanEarth That is average for the cost of my house over 20myears with 10 percent down.
HumanEarth · F
@FreeSpirit1 WOW, SHOCKING
@HumanEarth yea thats about what I pay also for my 3 bedroom house
HumanEarth · F
Why so much
My place is paid off with no leans against it. I paid cash without a loan. I did a Land Contract, got lawyers involved and put down 20 grand in cash for just the 10 acre for a 8 bedroom house.
I paid 55,000 for the home only
The farmland was separate purchase
My yearly property taxes are 700 year

I think my mortgage pymt is $2200 and my property taxes are $400, both monthly.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
Too much, but really have no choice.

SW-User
Property of 19 acres and house are fully paid for other than yearly taxes.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@SW-User How much are your annual taxes?

SW-User
About $300 USD for a 2 bdrm. all inclusive. I'd like to move out but the low cost keeps me here.

SW-User
@beermeplease I thought about that idea. I could rent one bedroom out and actually make a profit instead of taking a loss, but I'm using the other bedroom as a studio where I can make money.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@SW-User Wow, that's a low price even for Eastern European standards.
Shadyglow · F
Where do you live??? I wanna apply for a unit there!
Ontheroad · M
I'm renting again for the first time in many years and found a great 2-bedroom home in a good part of town for $1200 USD monthly, yard maintenance included. Been in it for over 3 years and no rent increases.

Freaking Vancouver and their outrageous rent costs, smh.
butterflybaby75 · 51-55, F
Here in Oz we pay rent per week. 2 years ago it was just under $400 a week, then it jumped to $450 a week (same place), then I had to move when the owner wanted to put it up to $550 a week last year. Currently in a much shittier place paying $440 a week.
I've never owned my own property but in my dreams would like to stop renting.
I don't live in Sydney, but if I did I'd be paying upwards of $1000 a week to rent an average house, and about $500 to $600 a week to rent any sort of decent apartment.
