What house chore you hate to do most?

For me is mopping the floor, living alone i had to do it very once a while. The most exhausting is wringing out the mop,and after try several kind of mob wringer gadget or wringer free sponge mop none of those work. Now i prefer just spray floor cleaner on floor and wipe it out with unwanted old clothing and dispose it right away, just so tired of back and fort replace bucket of fresh water and wringing movement.
Cleaning the tub, the tub walls and the glass doors. After doing all that I need a shower.
Now I have to wipe the doors and the wall tiles again...

@rinkydinkydoink I did a deep clean of mine last week.

Fun, eh?!

I use this mop and 3 replacement mop heads which I can switch out when the first one gets dirty.

I've been splashing the floor with water mixed with bleach and I use that as a cleaner. In a pinch, if I needed to do so, I could use the spray cleaner attached to the mop.

I've been washing the mop heads in the bathroom sink, and that is a pain, literally, because I have tendonitis in both wrists, and wringing out the mop heads to dry them hurts me....but if you have your own washing machine you can throw them in there.

@rosyhills I'm the same way. I actually rinse the dirt out in the bathroom sink first, then when the mop head is well rinsed, I fill the sink with about 1/4 tsp of laundry detergent, and a whole sh!t ton of bleach, and wearing vinyl gloves, I knead the dirt out of the deepest parts of the mop head. Then I drain the wash water, and rinse the living you know whatsie out of the mop head with hot water.

My cleaning lady wanted to throw the mop heads in with the laundry, but, like you, I was too grossed out, and I have to make sure the mop heads are almost sterile before they can be used again.

@4meAndyou I like those spin mops, lightweight and easy to rinse out the mop head.

@cherokeepatti With my cat, you couldn't just rinse. The mop heads had to be rinsed, washed, bleached, and rinsed again.

scrubbing the floor :(
Hanging laundry outside. The clothes are always inside out, or the pockets and sleeves inverted which I undo, resulting in dropping half the wash or the clothespins on the ground.

Also washing silverware.
rosyhills · 31-35, F
@NoThanksLeon i usually put utensils in a cup of water. That way they are easy to clean
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@NoThanksLeon Hanging out laundry always relaxed me. I was born on a farm and liked doing it especially when they dry quickly on warm or hot days. I had lines strung up on my covered deck for a couple years till we enclosed it into a sun room.
@cherokeepatti It's tedious turning my inside-out clothes right-side-in all the time before I hang them, along with inverted pockets and sleeves. That's my only objection. Especially with a LOT of laundry.

Folding and putting away laundry.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
I don’t mind mopping, got a lightweight spin mop system. Scrubbing the showers is a chore for me. Also dusting the shelves etc and moving Knick-knacks and mementos. That’s some kind of tedious work.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
I forgot to mention cleaning the oven. To do it right need to remove the door, it’s a huge pain to get the door back on. I have to go to You Tube and watch a video and even then it takes several attempts and the door is heavy.
@cherokeepatti Dont you be lifting those heavy doors young lady.
Shoveling the roof for snow.
Cleaning the bathroom. so I torture myself by cleaning it every single day because dirty bathrooms are disgusting.

actually, it might be sweeping my stairs as I never get it done... and I loathe the idea of doing it.
I'm okay with any household chore but dusting. To do it thoroughly, there are so many things that have to be moved. It's tedious and takes longer than I like spending on it.
Mopping is definitely up there along with folding laundry.
Cleaning the windows.
