Describe your home

Design, size, decor, function, furnishing, what makes it unique? What would you change?
SW-User
It has floors, walls and a roof…in fact it’s so super fancy it also has doors and windows!
SW-User
@SW-User Don't lie, you're northern. You have an outside toilet and your walls are made of clay
SW-User
@SW-User shush fish go back to your reef

Its hard to describe my home. Very unique and one of a kind. ♥️
TequilaMockingbird · 26-30, F
@Montanaman Ohhhhh I love it!!
My home was designed and constructed by my late ex husband who was a famous sculptor and an architect …

But what makes it unique is that before constructing each and every part, he would ask me if I wanted it the way he wanted it …. That’s why every corner of it was made with love and hope …
TequilaMockingbird · 26-30, F
@Soossie Awwwww, sorry for your loss
@TequilaMockingbird

Thank you ….

I live in a one bedroom apartment right now. Big, floofy couch, a mid-sized table set for four, a nice kitchen area with all the usual appliances and a decent amount of counter space. A big, 5'x2' muscle rack in the corner with a shit ton of crates, some small appliances, and some foodstuffs. There's a bulletin board with a calendar on it, and a window with supplements, meds, and random boxes piled up on the windowsill. I also have a folding table set up by the kitchen.

My bedroom is only 'mostly' separate from the main area of the apartment; there's a 3 foot gap between the wall and the ceiling (which is inconsequential, as I live alone). I sleep in a full-size bed draped in a grey weighted blanket. I have a wooden off-white night stand with a fan and a roll of toilet paper on it, in addition to a matching dresser on the opposite end of the room. The closet is accessible through a hulking, white sliding door; it's pretty spacious, and contains my laundry basket, my clothes, and a few other random items.

As for decore, the main area has a 3 panel print of a semi-abstract scene, while my bedroom has a big, blue tapestry of a mountainous coastline beneath the full moon. Overall, decore is pretty basic. I just don't care a whole lot.

I sorta wish I had more place to store stuff, another room for a desk, more shelves in my shower to hold products I use, etc. I wish there were common areas in this apartment complex where people would just intermingle and hang out. I wish there was a grocery store that I could just walk to instead of having to drive.
TequilaMockingbird · 26-30, F
@BlueVeins Shouldn’t you be sleep 😂😂 lol but wow thanks for going in to detail for a 1 bedroom apartment, the common area would be nice
BlueVeins · 22-25
@TequilaMockingbird I will sleep soon. I will try to leave room for youuuu

Degbeme · 70-79, M

Unique
Large living room that connects to a dinning area
Sunken den… spare bedrooms on south side of house with both having a sunken shower bath combo
Master bedroom solid would panel walls and master bath a full Japanese sunken bath
Master bedroom has a fireplace and there’s an adjacent fireplace in the sunken den
Yep car garage
Exterior is stucco
No backyard but a side yard on both sides of house
@SW-User
Sunken Japanese bath! 🤩
I like! 👍
Maybe not that unique, but what I liked about it is the SE facing windows to the kitchen. I like spending time in the kitchen and having bright natural light all throughout the day makes me happier.

3BR, 2 washrooms, and finished basement. Spacious backyard.
kodiac · 22-25, M
120 year old farmhouse 4 bedrooms all the original woodwork .Decor is all sorts of vintage stuff .It's unique to me because it has pocket doors. Wouldn't change.
TequilaMockingbird · 26-30, F
@kodiac Awesome! 😎😎
Patientlywaiting · 46-50, F
It is a four bedroom detached house on a very nice street. It has oak floors throughout which I fell in love with and was the main reason we chose this house, magnolia walls everywhere. We only moved in in November so haven't decided on decor yet. Lots needs changing. The kitchen needs replacing, so does the bathroom. It's a nice house, I like it a lot but it doesn't feel like home yet. 🙂
TequilaMockingbird · 26-30, F
@Patientlywaiting I like how you said yet :)
AllAboutLaffs · 70-79, M
Nothing very unique ... pretty suburban in style
1400 sq ft .... single level ... 3 bedrooms and 2 baths ... vaulted ceilings
I've painted the walls various shades of warm grays .... furnishings are fairly eclectic
I would add an addition for a photo studio ... priced that out ... it was ridiculous
Handfull1 · 61-69, F
@AllAboutLaffs great photography tho!! ❤️❤️
just a nice 2 story in a quiet area with a mountain view and the river not far away. it has a dual staircase in the center hall leading up to both wings with each having 3 bedrooms. the master suite has a dressing room with he and I having our own closet and bathroom. the kids have their own bedrooms with a jack and jill bathroom in the middle. the other wing has a guest suite and two bedrooms with a main bath. downstairs we have the kitchen which we recently had redone along with the dining room. there is a living room, family room, sunroom and my getaway the library. the basement is a finished rec room with a bar, pool table and retro video games along with a seating area to watch TV. he put a pool in for us last year and it has a six bay garage 3 doors 2 cars deep.
robb65 · 56-60, M
It's about 150 years old, give or take a few. It's either the oldest or next to the oldest house in this community. It needs lots of work, like needs some leveling and the porches need to be rebuilt. The original house was added on to more than once by people with questionable skills and using whatever lumber they had handy. I suspect the lumber in this part of the house came from another house that once stood on the west end of my property but was torn down in the late 20's or early 30's.
SmoothKnight · 51-55, M
It's like me - not flashy, but well built.
SmoothKnight · 51-55, M
@TequilaMockingbird

For some people style is substance, unfortunately.

@TequilaMockingbird

Absolutely...
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
Small apartment, modern-eclectic, I would only change it by adding more storage space.
TequilaMockingbird · 26-30, F
@DearAmbellina2113 It looks nice
Handfull1 · 61-69, F
It’s a mishmash of personality just like its owner!
TequilaMockingbird · 26-30, F
@Handfull1 Haha awesome!
Livingwell · 61-69, M
@Handfull1 I bet you have it fixed up nice. Hope you're doing well. 🤗
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
White picket fence. With, roses and native flora, and two lemon trees (Jack and Sherbet) in the front yard. 4 bedrooms. 1 ensuite. 2 loungerooms, kitchen, laundry etc. Big pergola in the backyard protecting the outdoor entertainment area and pool table. Fruit trees along the fence and enough room for my dogs to run.
TequilaMockingbird · 26-30, F
@Thevy29 Gkad your dogs have plenty of room!
SW-User
Not far away enough from people
TequilaMockingbird · 26-30, F
@SW-User 😂😂😂😂

Open floor plan, furniture is mismatched from receiving or buying it over several years. Unuqie is the amount of art, playbills, and showbills hung around. I'd change the kitchen appliances. Stove and oven most of all. I wish I had an induction, or a gas stove, and a dual-mode oven.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
Nothing unusual about it. It's simply an Edwardian-age terraced home, fairly small. two-up, two-down. The kitchen, and the bathroom that also holds the toilet, occupy a single-storey rear extension. Modest but sufficiently-sized rear garden, small front garden.

What I would change if both feasible and affordable would be to install a "sep. w.c." upstairs to save having to traipse all the way downstairs at 3a.m. on cold mornings!
SW-User
It's a condominium with 3 floors, it's hella messy too. ....:)
TequilaMockingbird · 26-30, F
@SW-User Sounds like you don’t mind lol
Tanoos · 41-45, F
My living room and bed room have some good ideas, but should be observe some new plan
Barebum61 · 61-69, M
Canvas cover,1 door,mosquito net ,air bed,outdoor kitchen ,bush toilet
akindheart · 61-69, F
I own it. It is too.small but refer to number 1
Torsten · 36-40, M
its not much and technically not mine but i am squatting here now so finders keepers rule applies
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Torsten There is no such rule as "finders keepers"; but if you are that desperate at least a burnt-out building is a bit better than sleeping in shop doorways, and I hope you do find somewhere decent to live. Just try to avoid the glass-fibre particles.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@ArishMell mate I wasnt serious and the pic is a burnt down church.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Torsten Thankyou! A church! Ah, I did wonder that but could not decide if church or something like a restaurant or night-club.
Allelse · 36-40, M

Even the homeless avoid my house.
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
This is a rental place. Extremely awkward design, open from everywhere and no windows in bedroom.
FeetAreFantastic · 41-45, M
About 100 square meters on the 4th floor in an appartment building. 2 bedrooms. Bathroom with bath and seperate toilet. Storage room. Large living room with adjacent kitchen.
Its a comfortable place but I think its too large and too... boring as it is totally not unique. It screams "standard dime a dozen" at the top of its lungs.

I'd rather live in a small yet comfortable tree house.
TequilaMockingbird · 26-30, F
@FeetAreFantastic Who wouldn’t want to live in a tree house? 😜
