How big of a turkey do you make for Thanksgiving? 🦃

Got me a 21 pounder 🦃🤓
@Miklee02 probably a long time before we have grandbabies. so happy for you
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@saragoodtimes oldest is almost 5 already,,,, her brother will be one in December and my other granddaughter is 16month with her brother or sister coming in spring
It’s the best gig ever!!
@Miklee02 my parents totally agree
Jonjdw · 51-55, M
I can’t remember, but probably a big one. We have to feed a lot. We make a turkey and a ham usually. Three. Grown children, four grandchildren my mother-in-law. We go through a lot of food. My mother-in-law doesn’t live with us, but the rest do.

Usually an 18 pound fresh turkey, but we will be missing some people this year so we will go smaller. Plus, we will have half a smoked turkey breast. I'm smoking the turkey breast and a pork butt next week.
JohnnyNoir · 56-60, M
It depends on how much I drink. I can be a pretty good sized one

I have it at relative's houses. There's usually around 25 people so they make 2. One in the oven and one deep fried.

@Sevendays it’s rough…. But it’s once a year

Hello4me · 51-55, M
I try to get in the 12 to 15 pound range
KingofBones1 · 46-50, M
Normally about 24 to 25 lb but seeing as how I'm going to be by myself this year I'm not making anything matter of fact since the family doesn't even get together anymore I'm probably not going to do much of anything either
easterniowegin · 51-55, M
If it's just immediate fam, 14lbs.
I love leftovers. And I'll typically make some homemade egg noodles later and pour turkey and noodles over masked potatoes for dinner a few days later too.
TexChik · F
We are going to have a big group this year so we are planning on 3. One baked, one smoked, and one fried…plus a pig in the ground. The 18-pounders fit the best in the fryer and the smoker.
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@LunarOrbit we need leftovers!! And the kids always want some too
Ontheroad · M
I always go for the biggest one they have... leftovers for sandwiches is my favorite part of turkey day😁
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
I usually cook two 15 - 18 pounders. Easier to handle, seems to cook more evenly.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
Turkey is dry and boring. Corned beef is much better.
ReneeT · 61-69, M
There is a 19 pound one here
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
Secularised bird killing yay
Montanaman · M
Usually 24-25 ibs.🦃
