Urgent nursing advice

Hi Guys! Can someone recommend a good nursing program for someone with no experience?
Graylight · 51-55, F
An associate's degree in nursing is the fastest way to best get working. You can also spend less time to become an EMT and get on-the-job training while transferring into a nursing program. I know lots of people who've done this.

Any reputable nursing program can give you what you need. Here's your part: Make sure you know what the job you want entails, what it demands, and what you'll be doing day in and day out. Because with all the hassles, politics, paperwork and shift details, you're the hands and sometimes the mind for those who've been sidelined by life's complications. You are sometimes the only link to the outside and other humans. That's an awesome responsibility, especially after 305's been screaming all night, 321 won't eat for the 4th day and 297 is refusing important meds. It's nights and weekends and doubles and no one in administration cares.

Too many people 'round my way got into nursing because "it pays well" and there's "job security." There's a reason we're in a nursing shortage right now, and it's that patients and hospitals alike have overworked these men and women. Nursing can be the most rewarding occupation in the world, and some of the most human moments of my life came from the compassion and advocacy of nurses. But I was a medic in the heart of a city known for violence and I wouldn't transfer to a nursing career to save my life. It's a great career, but take it seriously. These aren't files and histories - these are human lives.

Start simple but track where you want to end up. LPN? RN? Surgical nurse? Emergency nurse? Advanced degreed? The sky's the limit. Any good school in your area with a nursing program should suit your needs. Ask your local hospital where they get their nurses. Good luck.

Older nurses always give me one advice: leave 😂
In all seriousness I have no idea, I went to University (4 years undergraduate program) and you can be a registered nurse once you're done. For nurse assistant it's usually a 2 year program.
