Do you have any health issues which dominate your lifestyle?

A long-term illness, like MS, Asthma, Autism (not really an illness more a condition), Cystic Fibrosis, you know what I mean..

I have diabetes
RubySoo · 56-60, F
No. Im diabetic, asthmatic and have oesteosthritis in my hands, but (so far) none dominate my life and I dont intend to let that happen.
Being fat impacted my life far more...and thats no longer the case! 🙂
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@LunadelobosIAMTHEDRAGON thank you. Things are under control at the moment but I'm aware it could take a turn at anytime. I need to remind myself to take better care of myself. The arthritis scares me the most coz i'm artsy and creative and it will take my pleasures away if i cant draw, or sew etc. But..... i have far less to worry about that many others.
Im so sorry you are having such a hatd time. I really hope things improve for you soon. X
@RubySoo I am a creative too, I can open my own craft store , not even kidding.
Spent waaaay too much money on that sht ...🤷‍♀️😅.. But I used to do it all the time.

Now, it's I think I connection to who I was, and who I still AM, in spite of the health issues and other issues.
Also. I DREAM of making this and finishing that, I have two cross stich going for my Papa (more than half done, one with beads and jewels), one for me :) and others.. .Soo many cool others, it's just a joy,
but I have mostly stopped buying them but OMGD, it's soo fun, RIGHT? :D ....

I LOVE nature, she is my salvation. Water, gardening, sand between my toes. Diving deep into clear water and touching bottom, and seeing how beautiful it is underwater.
I miss cycling and getting away from humans.

You are Welsh?
Well, I have a great person I know you know him too, and I have seen your lovely land, and it's peaceful, open, beautiful.
Barely any high-rises (HATE THEM) and open spaces galore.
You got mild winters and fuzzy sheep and it looks like a lovely place to call home.
Also, you have waters everywhere, so you can swim.
Our oceans are far far away, I am in central Canada.
It's kinda yuk here, bc metropolis.. Sorry lol..
I am very allergic to urban life, but I am bound to it. I don't tolerate noise well (health reason, am an H.S.P.+++, and just hate noise)
and so, I try to do our walks in the dark bc fewer ppl and cars.

I am grateful for your kind words. Thank you very much (((HUGS)))
Okay, take care :)

@LunadelobosIAMTHEDRAGON ha ha! We seem very alike with our creative ways!! I think us crafty types do tend to hoard bits and bobs that 'might cone in useful one day!' I too have 2 cross stitches on the go at the mo. A big project that is alwats 'on the back burner' and a small quick(ish) one as a gift for a friends baby.

I think I know the wonderful welsh friend we share here. 😁 Wales is a very beautiful country and I feel very blessed to call it home. XX

Other than being fat not yet lol
smiler2012 · 56-60
@AmericanBroad 😆suffer the exact same problem
Between five and ten, closer to ten. And I am sorry, I don't want to write it out, it makes it more real and it's a fking nightmare.

There are also humans who are making my life a literal hell (The main ones count to well actually again it's closer to ten but four is the minimum. )
and I don't know what to do about it. I really don't. So, again. writing about it, it does not help. As ATM I can't see the solution.

so. I am barely active here. I am not fun. I don't have any energy and desire bc I have barely any hope that things will change, to Participate, I can only post sometimes and hope they like it.

Hugs, take please take good care okay.

Luna.

Post cancer surgery I was left, after chemo etc severe neuropathy in my feet, massive amount of pain ,
Cancer since i was 13. Incontinence from birth
RenFur · 70-79, M
Compared to other folks, my high blood pressure (now controlled) is nothing. I'm 75 and I'd best not sit in one position long. That's about it. I'm very lucky.
Roadsterrider · 56-60, M
I am diabetic and pushing 60, no matter how well you take care of yourself, age and illness take a toll. But, no, they do not dominate my life. Things go a little slower, labor intensive things like splitting firewood, heavy maintenance on the truck, but it still gets done. I pay more attention to what I eat and how many beers I may drink, that is pretty much it.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Mostly just getting old -- that's problem enough.
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
No, high blood pressure is all I have
Lilnonames · F
@FreeSpirit1 stop getting high🙏
Diabetes, which dictates my diet
OldBrit · 61-69, M
Yes I've meniers disease. It affects the inner ear. Leads to deafness, tinnitus, balance issues and vertigo.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
Yes,I'm a blind person.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@Diotrephes I have a little sight and i use magnifying aids. I'm legally blind.
Most blind folk are not totally blind.

Sorry for your condition. They are working on replacing eyeballs.

@Diotrephes No need to feel sorry for me. I have a great life.
My arthritic knees are a problem but I’ll put up with that until I get them replaced.
Physically, just some nerve damage that's causing constant pain.
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
@SooperSarah the irritating thing about nerve pain is that only someone else who has it can empathize. It's frustrating explaining to people that it's not something you can simply "walk off" or push through like muscle or joint pain. I get that shit all the time from extended family/uncles, etc.
Markmywurdz · 56-60, M
Borderline morbid obesity.
RenFur · 70-79, M
@Markmywurdz

That's a tough one to pull off... 500 lbs being the cutoff point?
Markmywurdz · 56-60, M
I saw it defined as BMI above 40, or above 35 if you have related health issues. @RenFur
RenFur · 70-79, M
@Markmywurdz

Thanks for the correction. I can understand now why BMI is so critical.
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, fibromyalgia, & nerve damage/neuropathy
Migraines. I have meds that help (thankfully).
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
@BrewCityBarfly naproxen (OTC) and diclofenac (Pres.) works good for headaches/migraines
@wildbill83 Thanks, but with all due respect, I might as well eat a couple tic tacs.

My wife’s huge obesity and health conditions dominate our lives
She is a very large lady who has become bed bound.
It very much rules how we live
She has diabetes, heart failure, lymphodema, sleep apnea, fatty liver
High blood pressure, cholesterol ,poor circulation and shortness of breath
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
For me these days it's dealing with my wife's dementia. She can function generally, but has lots of memory problems and sometimes confusion. I have my own health problems -- getting old is a pain literally and figuratively -- but watching her slowly go away mentally is hard.
pdockal · 56-60, M
Unfortunately
My desire for immortality dominates my lifestyle. My eating. My daily exercise. Working on my mental health. (A lot to work on there 🤣)
WhateverWorks · 36-40
A few issues. It’s tough to balance.

Brsin tumor
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
Ollier's Disease, one of the symptoms causing this:

People with this condition also have higher chances of bone cancers - I had one develop in my left hip, which led to a hemipelvectomy - meaning I have no left leg or even hip. I generally use a wheelchair to get around as a result.
Lilnonames · F
Yes but ill not let it dominate me.
