They usually base it on BMI

What's your height ?
@expressinggeneralfeelings thanks and eat something
@LILY61 I do lol but I guess that's my metabolism.... Lol

There is no accurate weight chart, as the body has many variables.
At 200 lb., I am in better shape and fitter than some who weigh 25 lb. less (though the charts say those people are more of an ideal weight).
If you鈥檙e aiming for a particular weight, aim for it (I got down to 200 lb. for 230 lb.) and see if you look and feel good at that weight.
Don鈥檛 rely on the charts, as they are not an accurate indicator of what鈥檚 right for you.
@DragonFruit thanks...i was just looking to put down an ideal weight for me to work toward and got frustrated
DragonFruit61-69, M
@LILY61 Pick your own....if you think 135 might be good, go for that and see how it feels. Don鈥檛 need to overthink it.
@DragonFruit oh, all right...
Who says u should weigh that little? be happy with your weight. Do you look good and feel good? Thats what matters.
@LILY61 Hahahahaha - oml馃ぃ馃ぃ馃ぃ

The other thing that BMI doesn't seem to take into account is a person's natural build, which to me seems especially important with women.

Some women have almost boyish figures, but others have big boobs (even when skinny) and/or very wide hips (with a commensurately big bottom to gather weight on), and yet somehow they're supposed to fit the same BMI figures? Naaah...

Looking and feeling healthy is what matters, not some figure that's based on a body shape that's Almost Certainly Not Yours.
@TheThinker good points
@TheThinker so true, so true, so true
@canusernamebemyusername i usually do but i wanted to put something down for my goal and it isn't even listed on my "ideal weight"
@LILY61 weight is subjective.
As is BMI
Im 5,7" and weight about 175 - 180 lb.
Scales say i should be about 20 lb lighter... But i'd look horrible.
I like being strong. I like having a little padding, plus.... I'd lose my boobies if i did that 馃榿

Maybe aim for fitter, or stronger, or more flexible.

You could change swap some bodyfat for muscle.

It's all about how you feel.

I was a big girl for a long time - but i was damn fit too.
Health is more important than weight.... Amd i'm talking emotional amd mental health too.

YOU choose what ypu think is right for YOU.
After all, who knows you best?
@BoobooSnafu you smart
TimSummersM
I don't believe in using scales. How well do your clothes fit? Shoes feeling lose or tight? How about that dress you wore last year? How does it fit? Unless you are obese or malnutrition, a scale can be your worse enemy if you are on a diet or trying to gain weight. Love who you are like we all do. 馃

If you want a more accurate result then go for fat % which takes age and gender into consideration
