@Miklee02 My dad got the cancer, but recovered. So, I started at 48. They recommend 7 years, because of it being in the family.
Levenrack · 46-50, M
@Punxi Well, after that procedure, he's entitled.
Scousspeter · 41-45, M
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@Scousspeter I’ve got another 10! 🙌
Scousspeter · 41-45, M

Miklee02 · 51-55, F

Miklee02 · 51-55, F

@Miklee02 me, the very next meal. LOL
Levenrack · 46-50, M
@MayorOfCrushtown Same... drove into my hometown, and I just said "here" at the first food place. My mother said "But, the docto....."

"HERE!"
WormMan · 56-60, M
Just recently went through it, luckily my appointment was early in the morning so I didn't have to wake up in the middle of the night to drink the 💩 juice.
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@WormMan I drank half the juice at 5pm last night then had to get up and drink other half at 4am …. There’s gotta be a better way
anythingoes477 · 31-35, M
@Miklee02 Its a shitty test, isn't it?

I lost about 5 pounds after the diet restrictions the week before and then with there and fasting. It was intense
Degbeme · 70-79, M
The prep is the worst part of it. Wishing you all the best. 🤗
Stay close to the shitter. 🤣🤣🤣
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@Sojournersoul no joke
It's a poopcoaster of joy isn't it?! 👏 Still, it was better than my actual Crohn's attacks.
GoFish ·
drinking the gallon eh? lol
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
Not a happy experience. Makes the gastroscopy I had this morning look like a walk in the park. I wish you well.
Musicman · 61-69, M
I feel for you. I had to have two done last year. The first one I wasn't cleaned out well enough. Are you drinking the drink or taking the pills?
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@Musicman I’d have to look it all up and add it up. Not that expensive to me but some would complain on it.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti Someone is always going to complain.
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@Musicman My sister is a good example of that. She got the best Medicare plan she could have for the situation she is in. It was set up to help keep Seniors out of the nursing homes. There were a lot of the residents in the Senior apartment complex where she lived that had this plan and they were bragging about it. It was really good for someone who had no car to get around. They offered free transportation for all medical visits and would come & get her in a van, taking her up to the health science medical center where I go for treatments. they offered free fitness classes and would have given her free transportation for that. One time she was complaining about her legs swelling and a nurse drove over to where she lived at night and gave her some support stockings, no charge. That type of thing. She complained about trivial things so much and ended up dropping the plan and switching over to another one around her birthday and not even keeping it a year.
bookerdana · M
The struggle is real😬
Ontheroad · M
It's not fun, but consider what might happen if you don't get the colonoscopy. Trust me, the colonoscopy and preparation are far, far better.
workathome · 56-60, M
lol been there, done that...
pdockal · 56-60, M
First one ?????
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@pdockal no…. My grandpa died of colon cancer so I started screening at a younger age and I also had colon resection surgery (cut out a foot) in 2016 due severe diverticulitis…… I just seriously do not want to do this ever again!! It’s harder on me now at my age I think 🤔
pdockal · 56-60, M
@Miklee02

Oof ....
My last pep was easy
It was all over the counter products
My first one i was expecting horrible issues but it wasn't like everybody told me to expect

Good luck !!!!!
WillaKissing · 61-69, M
Well I have had three or four and all I can say is it is a shitty business, and enjoy the fog horn farts post procedure. They fill your intestines with air to be able to look at the intestinal walls. And your hungrier than heck from the 24 hour fasting pre procedure. I always hit a restaurant on the way home and OMG once you start walking around that's when your body decides to get rid of the air in your intestines.

So, my only advice is pick a buffet where old folk (Older than us) eat at and no one will blink twice about your air farts! LOL
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@WillaKissing Such a descriptive way of putting it. Last time they told me to eat light the day before and I did just that. And walking around helps to release the air so if you live in the country a little walk here and then will help it rip.
WillaKissing · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti Yes, you know I live in the country a hundred miles or more from any place they do the procedures at, and no way I am blowing my truck doors off for the two plus hour drive home while starving, and not wanting to share! LOL
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@WillaKissing I would never go out to eat after having a colonoscopy. It’s and eat light day that day and eat light the next day.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
Yes "it's shitty"!
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@JimboSaturn sure is! 💩
Quimliqer · 70-79, MVIP
Follow the instructions to a tee as the alternative is nowhere as nice!
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@Quimliqer I 💯 did!
emmasfriend · 46-50, F
@Miklee02

The preparation is much worse than the procedure.

I have had two in the last six months - it was fascinating to watch it all on screen and discuss with the surgeon who mapped all the polyps. Those removed proved to be benign.

Relax. Nothing to be afraid of. The worst is over.

Bon Courage !
they can detect it with just a blood test now
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@saragoodtimes yeah I seen commercials on that….. if no problems this time that’s what I will request in 10 years!
@Miklee02 Alan suggests it to his patients who refuse to go through the prep and exam.
@Miklee02 good luck and prayers
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
I’m overdue. I’m getting antsy reading the comments. I’m past the 10 year point since my first one. It could be a life saver so I will schedule soon. Good luck with yours.
Levenrack · 46-50, M
I just had my first one done on Tuesday... The prep was.... interesting. You doing the Golytely? Cause there's nothing lytely about it Lol. Everything went swimmingly well though. Good Luck.
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@Levenrack had to take 4 Dulcolax pills Tuesday night which that kept me up all night then yesterday 32oz of MiraLAX with Gatorade and another 32oz at 4am
I’m pooped out!!! All pun intended 😅🤪💩
BuzzedLightyear · 61-69, M
What the actual fuck?
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@BuzzedLightyear I’m good for another 10! 🙌🤪
KeyserSoze · 36-40, M
Yeah you’re pretty much screwed.
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@KeyserSoze I get 5 more minutes to drink liquids….. then procedure in two hours
