People sometimes feel that if they just lose weight, all their other issues will disappear. But while weight loss is of course great, what it does instead is shine a light on those issues that remain unresolved.

Yeah been there.

My weight has gone up and down my whole life, and although people seem to pay more attention to me when I'm on the thinner side, I really don't feel any different physically or emotionally, whether I'm smaller or larger.

In fact, when I was on the thinner side, I felt even MORE body conscious and paranoid about how I looked. I've realized that my preferred body size for myself is chubby/on the larger side. That's just where I'm comfortable. Nobody has to like it. Just me. 🤷🏻‍♀

Those effects were possibilities that are often experienced, but weight isn’t the only factor in how we feel or function. Weight loss gets hyped like winning the lottery - if only you could, all your troubles would vanish. You’re not the only person I’ve seen express this reality. Still, you ARE healthier and have lowered your risk for some serious illnesses so I hope you can come to feel more value in your accomplishment and that you do feel some pride in the fact that you have succeeded at something quite challenging.

I lost 20 lbs and can't do any more. mentally i feel exactly the same which is the crux of the matter. physically my digestion has improved but I haven't felt much different otherwise. maybe it's because you were already very active.

If you're sleeping well, maybe look at your diet. Are you drinking enough water? Are you eating enough of the right foods slow release carbs, watching your sugar so you don't get a sudden spike and then a crash that makes you tired. Are you getting healthy fats and protein, magnesium and calcium? If you're doing all that, maybe time to go and get the doc to check your blood 😊

"Overtraining syndrome includes symptoms such as extreme fatigue, loss of motivation, mood changes, loss of appetite, sleep disturbance and insomnia, irregular heart rate, lower immunity, joint soreness, and more.18 Allowing enough time to recover before you do intense cycling or spinning workouts is ideal.

Listen to your body and consult a personal trainer or cycling coach if you need specific guidelines for your fitness level. And, if you want to cycle every day, try performing lower-intensity sessions for a few days of the week."

You do not become a different person, just a different size and healthier.
I was still awkward and shy at my lowest weight point

Wow! 70 pounds is Awesome! You should be proud of yourself. How did you do it?
helenS · 36-40, F
You can jump over a fence now, you can swim fast, you can run fast, and I'm sure you look much much more attractive now that you are no longer a fattie. 👍🏼
🌷 <== flower for your success!

@helenS I know you are trying to help, but the problem is you are assuming things I can do. I can’t run, for other reasons. I was already a strong swimmer, but ain’t no mad bull here for me to run away from and jump over the fence. Having said that, I do think you are right when it comes to specific recreational acts, and that is not irrelevant. But I just wish it was a day to day, not being as tired and feeling better all around thing.

@Cyclist Yes it's true I tried you cheer you up, and make you feel good about it.
@Cyclist I am not a doctor or a psychologist, but what you are describing sounds like depression. Maybe talk to a doctor?
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
What about your mental health? Is there anything from your past that could be weighing you down in other ways?
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
Maybe there’s another underlying factor contributing to this
