I think I need to go part time at my job for now

I can't even explain the dread and stomach aches I get when I wake up on a workday. The stress of being overloaded at work is worsening my health issues and causing new ones. Which leads to me needing more time off to recover, which leads my supervisor to say "You're overusing FMLA."

Oh yeah? Well this company is overusing ME. I take triple and sometimes quadruple the amount of calls as everyone else, and that has remained a consistent pattern for months, despite me bringing it to the attention of everyone I can. I have documentation of this fact, and I have documentation of my medical conditions, and I have FMLA because my doctor agrees that my job is often a trigger for my conditions.

It will be less money and no benefits if I go part time, but that's also gonna be less money that gets taken out of my insurance for benefits. And the most important part is that my body and mind can rest more often. This job is literally making me sick.

Keep on mind that a job is just a paycheck. You get paid the same as the lowest performers. You just have to be a little better than them. If you quit, you will be replaced in a few days. You have to live with yourself the rest of your life.

You must take care of yourself.

Definitely do part time, nothing is worth that aggravation to your mind and body too. Money is needed in our life, but not when it costs something more important, your health or happiness 🦋🌺

This is a wild idea but I wish there was part time disability for people with fibromyalgia and other exhausting chronic illnesses. Just a little to supplement the fact that the thing we have to do every day makes us worse.

@ScreamingFox exactly

Do you have to go part time so you have only half the triggering stress? Can you not find something entirely different that would not have the same effect on your health?
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
@daydeeo I'm working on it

Take stress leave. It’s available through unemployment insurance and maintains your benefits.

I'm lucky, I only work about two days a week with lots of travel.
