Hernia Repair With Mesh - if you’ve had this, I have a question for you

I had my surgery seven weeks ago

If you had this done, did you notice when you ate that the mesh felt like it was tightening and restrictive? I feel like I can only eat a small amount every day otherwise the mesh feels like it’s going to explode.

Have you experienced this?

I haven't had it, but my mother has, and I was a paramedic.

How long ago was the surgery, and what was your aftercare advice?

@Guardian no none of that. Maybe if will just take time
@Jenny1234 I would say if you have no fever, bleeding or discomfort, then perhaps you're fine! When do you check-in again with your doctor?

@Guardian I already had my follow up visit at the 3 week mark. I’ll call and ask if it continues much longer

My wife went through this a few months back. It does sound like you need to eat smaller quantities for a while until the healing has settled.😷

I barely noticed I even had surgery. I did notice some pulling, but it was higher up, under my diaphragm. Not sure if it was related, it didn't show up right away. And now that I mentioned it I notice it's been gone for a while.

For a bit my bellybutton was just numb, so I didn't really notice. But I do remember when the feeling started coming back that there was a feeling that it was kind of tight, but never like it was going to give way

I had this about 20 years ago. I’ve never felt anything from it.
