Hernia Repair With Mesh - if you’ve had this, I have a question for you

I had my surgery seven weeks ago

If you had this done, did you notice when you ate that the mesh felt like it was tightening and restrictive? I feel like I can only eat a small amount every day otherwise the mesh feels like it’s going to explode.

Have you experienced this?

I haven't had it, but my mother has, and I was a paramedic.

How long ago was the surgery, and what was your aftercare advice?

@Guardian I was told I could go back to eating regular foods within a couple of days. But honestly, the first two weeks I didn’t really feel like eating much of anything.

Ive noticed that if I eat the amount of food I was eating before the surgery, the area where the mesh is feels like it’s tightening.

Because I’m not eating as many calories on making sure that they are nutrient dense, which is probably enough

I thought I would ask if anyone else has experienced the same thing
@Jenny1234 I believe this may be a common experience after such surgery. Are you experiencing any infection, fever or discomfort in your daily bowel habits?

@Guardian no none of that. Maybe if will just take time
@Jenny1234 I would say if you have no fever, bleeding or discomfort, then perhaps you're fine! When do you check-in again with your doctor?

@Guardian I already had my follow up visit at the 3 week mark. I’ll call and ask if it continues much longer
