Democracy and a great country depends on citizens being informed. Be very informed! Watch many news sources from many countries to not be manipulated.
Not just twitter, Facebook, Christian broadcast network (which is very politically motivated), or political radio blogs (left or right motivated), press conferences, or fox entertainment news those are all editorials and opinions, not the news!

If you are watching very liberal news then also watch conservative news. Because only watching American or your own countries news is very dangerous. Please watch Austrailian news, English BBC, Germain DW, Danish, French, African, Hong Kong news, ABC, PBS, AP etc.

I usually come across a story through just flipping through news aggregators and if it interests me I will look at it via a few different angles. Ground news can be useful, it describes how liberal vs conservative media cover different stories.

ANY news must be read critically. If your response to a news story is outrage, take a moment and try to find out what is actually going on. Think about what you're consuming.

I'm uninterested in accusing media of bias - all media is biased. Rather, understand the bias and try to find out the truth of the matter. Good journalism is truthful not neutral. And good journalism does exist.

I try to avoid looking for news. I am very selective about who I listen to. Here in Canada it is getting harder and harder to get accurate information. The MSM is owned and operated by the government and there is a lot of censorship on things like facebook or Twitter or.... The government says that it can't have fake news being spread. Of course fake news is rather a malleable subject with each side claiming the other is fake.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Carazaa It is far better to be wise and discerning.
Carazaa · F
@hippyjoe1955 Being wise is important, but impossible if we are misinformed.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Carazaa Look at your head covering issue. You are uninformed and unwise.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
George Bernard Shaw once said if you must read a newspaper, read your enemy's newspaper.

Very important for perspective to look at news outside your own country.
Carazaa · F
@SunshineGirl Exactly! Very true.
Interesting how you describe the BBC as "centre". Various factions are always describing it as either left or right wing biased. With a slightly older pair of ears than I used to have, I would agree that, by and large, the BBC is fairly well balanced.

Unfortunately, nearly every media outlet is biased in one form or another - no matter what nation they originate. Finding news that's accurate is nearly impossible. In the US the wealthy control the media (TV, radio, internet, social media, etc.) - and they make sure what's transmitted is either their personal views or that which benefits them (e.g. monetarily).

I get most of my news from work....amd spme from here, and some on my phone feed.

I try not to pay attetnion to most of it unless ita close to home.

Its mostly dramatised and depressing and produced in a way to issue a stress response.

Where's all the good news ?
Wheres all the acts of kindness and altruism?

Its just biased and stressful and i think Facebook is rubbish..... sorry.
Carazaa · F
@OogieBoogie If the world falls apart people will realize they were uninformed when they voted.
@Carazaa the world IS falling apart.
People thought they were informed.

Mainstream news is rubbish. Its edited propaganda to execute an agenda.

Some people are left so uneducated from a broken school system, they wouldn't even know the trash they are being fed IS trash.

Between the educated who are fighting for equality, and the educated who are in on thr whole game for themsleves .....its a no win situation when the uneducated masses are swayed by firesworks and slogans🤷‍♀
Carazaa · F
@OogieBoogie

It will be hard the next few years, but we will be ok. 🙏

Revelation 13
5 And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months.

10 If anyone is to be taken captive,
to captivity he goes;
if anyone is to be slain with the sword,
with the sword must he be slain.

Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints.
16 Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave,[e] to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, 17 so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. 18 This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666.[f]
