easy, I try to get 8 hours but I don't sleep well, so I'm sure I get about 7 every night.
Indianboy · M
6-7 hours is sufficient for an adult as per most medical experts. but it has to sound sleep

@Poetvann I was that way for a number of years in my 20s too, but now I have trouble actually sleeping more than 8 even if I try.
Poetvann · 26-30, F
@BetweenKittensandRiots I wish. Sleep takes too much of my life
crystalkid · 56-60, T
Usually yes, but if I undersleep for a few days it catches up to me
@crystalkid Me too.
Sutten · 36-40, F
I wish I was lucky enough to get 7 solid hours.
KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
@Sutten Melatonin is OTC. It might help. Have you tried it?
Skippyskiptic · 41-45, M
7 hours is the maximum amount of sleep my body will allow. If I go to sleep at 12 I wake up at 7. Go to sleep at 8, wake up at 3. I usually sleep 11-6.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
I usually go on 4 hours so yeah. I'd feel better with 6 though
Umile · 41-45, F
I can make it, barely.
I function really well with a lot if sleep.

Yes. I usually sleep about 4 hours a night.

7 to 8 hours is optimal.
Over and under sleeping can both lead to health problems. Also, you can’t “bank” sleep by getting extra sleep before starting long periods of staying awake. But short naps can help relieve the effects of sleep deprivation such as long road trips.

I work for 7/8. I have myself time for 7/8 hours. And i sleep for 7/8 hours. I keep everything Even. Sometimes I'll sleep more and give myself less me time.
calicuz · 56-60, M
Not really. I usually get about 6 hours, but I usually need to find a spot to take a quick nap at work.
NerdyPotato · M
It varies from person to person. For me it may work once or twice, but not permanently.
iamBen · M
That or a bit less has been the norm for me for as long as I've been an adult
Ontheroad · M
That's more than enough... optimal for me has always been in the 6-hour range.
Mudkip · 31-35, M
I'd say at least 6, today I'm running with a little under 5. Couldn't sleep well.
PhoenixPhail · M
It would be for me. But I usually don't get that much sleep.
JustaBuddy · 41-45, M
Yeah you can do it. Best to get 8 ever now and then though.
