@Degbeme Thank you, my friend! I didn’t even do my veggie plants yet this year. I wasn’t sure what was going on and if I’d be able to take care of them and plan them as well as an issue in my neighborhood that prevented it earlier on.

@SethGreene531Thank you.. Yeah, he was mad b/c that’s his specialty and the dr basically was acting as if he didn’t trust his opinion. I was also on 3 allergy meds on top of it.
My last visit to get the meds my allergist said good luck on the way out 😒 I said that’s not very funny 🙄
I think it’s like .4% of people are allergic to mri contrast, it might be for CT contrast though.
@MellyMel22 Specialists take it personally when doctors outside their field, second guess their judgement. That is aggrevating.
As are flippant remarks like " break a leg" or "good luck" to a patient. Inappropriate, I agree.🙄
Interesting read. The odds of a reaction are slim. Especially with MRI. Nevertheless, good call to have it administered in hospital, especially if the 2nd contrast dose can be the most severe.
@YMITheWayIM Thank you. I had a double heart catheterization. I am allergic to the contrast dye that they use for it, so that was another worry. I was told I would need a possible stent/s if the arteries were clogged or another surgery. I’ve had heart related things for a couple years due to what they believe or just color dies in medications, but I had a lot of swelling in my legs that no one could explain so I went for another opinion.

It was actually a procedure that they usually do sedating for, I think it’s called like a twilight sedation where you’re awake but very calm and not so aware of everything specifically they’re doing but enough that you can tell them if you’re in pain or something is happening.

The abnormal stress test is what made this procedure necessary. Keep it in mind if you’re top-heavy incase you ever end up in that position so you don’t worry as much, but of course look into it to be sure.

@empanadasThank you! I am. I need a specific mri that not everywhere has and it has to be a hospital b/c of the contrast allergy. I’m waiting to hear back from the Dr. I’m hoping Westchester has it, because Albany is too far and I don’t know the area.

@MoneyonmymindThat wasn’t all of it. I asked for a percentage of what was there that shouldn’t be and he said 0 and I made him confirm it and more while on the table 🤣
