Do you have a hug or positive words??

I am just really nervous this week. It was my 2nd mammogram (now recommended after 40) and while last year was clear..they saw what *may* be a mass on left side. I do have a feeling it is a cyst type mass as I do get pain there occasionally, and most tumors do not hurt in the breast. But I am STILL nervous. I am going back for a second mammogram with ultrasound this week. 😟

Then I will be emailing my doc after THAT about a cyst like lump in my stomach. I do feel pain with that too and I have put it off many months to get it checked. My sister had a benign cyst that hurt as welll years ago and it was a lipoma that they cut out. I hope it is that. Either way I am pretty nervous all around so any hugs welcome 💓

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,

🤗♥ I know it's scary but mammograms taken early have had a lot of false positive results. In the book I read about cancer it was something like fifty percent of positive screenings for young women were false and something like cysts. I can't remember if it was fifty percent but it was a high number. The good news is that with early detection even if the lump is breast cancer the survival rate for breast cancer is very high and they know a lot about it and how to treat it.

Don't worry yourself and just do whatever your doctor recommends.

@Lostpoet Thank you for your words 🌺 I just am getting nervous about the cyst lump in stomach too as that has been there for a year. But for 6 months i thought it was gone ..couldn't feel it. Now I have felt it again and I TRULY hope it is a lipoma.

@Baybreeze Most likely it isn't there are many different things that can cause a lump. It could even be a hernia.

@Baybreeze You are smart about going to a doctor thought don't let these things go unchecked.

Oh, so sorry my friend. That is scary. And not knowing makes it worse.

I know what it is like: I failed a Cologuard test last year (I mailed a sample and they detected blood so recommended a colonoscopy). I was scared. But fortunately the colonoscopy found no tumors or polyps. Yet they found inflammation, and gave me oral medicine, and eventually a month of enemas of the same medicine. I had a follow up probe last week, and the inflammation is gone!

Yet I now have a new scare: I have been diagnosed with diabetic eye disease. I could go blind! I have a laser treatment next week on my left eye. I will be awake. I am terrified I might flinch and the laser will hit the wrong spot!

Best of luck.

@JoyfulSilence They do those laser treatments so often..Im sure it will be great.

My brother's girlfriend has the same disease. I do not know if she has had laser treatment, but I do know she gets eye injections. I mentioned that to my doc and he said that may come later, if it gets worse.

I think the laser hits blood vessels, or something. I should do some research.

Breast cysts are benign. They're just fluid filled sacs. They usually don't hurt, unless you start poking them, and usually insurance does not pay for draining them, unless they're painful to the touch by bras/clothes.

But they always send you back for a second mammogram, just to be sure. After s few those, your doctor may stop asking for a second mammogram.

If your sister had a lipoma, then the genetics say that you may be going that route, and you should stop delaying.

Good luck.

🫂 The odds are on your side. This time will pass and you'll get better at the routine as time goes on. Go easy on yourself. There will be untold numbers of women feeling the same way as you feel at the same time all over the world. You're not alone!
Get them checked. Mom has breast cancer, has had a lumpectomy and radiation. She was fine for two years, than they saw something on the Mammogram. They biopsied it and it turned to be a benign cyst.

Get checked, dont delay!
