Would You Participate In A Clinical Trial To Test Out Medications?

A local doctor who does a news segment on a TV station says that there is a shortage of people willing to participate in clinical studies. She was urging people to volunteer saying they would get paid for their time, adding “it was the easiest money I’ve ever made.”

I wonder why people are not wanting to participate these days? Could it be distrust of the pharmaceutical industry?

Big percentage already have, for free
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Virgo79 not exactly free when the medical bills start rolling in, insurance doesn’t pay for everything

@cherokeepatti i was thinking initially, nothing is free.lol

No unless it was a new innovative inhaler to treat asthma attacks.

@SW-User Two puffs, but I can take it every 4 hours. It's sulfate based. It does take 20 to 30 minutes, and Usually I have to sit down and try to breathe calmly and just chill while I am waiting.

I think it depends on your body. It can be scary to wait but if you see a reassuring pattern the important thing is that you get relief in the end 🤗
For me it often works almost instantly like within 5 minutes but my doctor told me if the attack is sudden & really bad and I don't feel any better soon I can have more puffs up to 10. Thought that was crazy. I rarely have to go beyond 2. When I do, I experience those annoying side effects but to me what matters is that I can breathe ok again.

Prostitution is easy money, when you have to stay in the hospital for "14 days, 14 nights and 3 follow up visits" most working people don't have that kind of time.

I wonder why so many little children are suddenly coming down with myocarditis after receiving the Covid vaccine? 🤔🤔🤔

No. Its too risky. Ive heard about clinical trials going wrong.
Docdon23 · M
I have volunteered several times and am doing a trial right now.
No.
Feels much too risky and I'm not willing to risky my health for science. If anything serious came about the money wouldn't matter anymore.

I can see this being attractive to people that have terminal diagnosis.

Not a chance!!

If I had no other option then I would take clinical studies to hopefully live a little longer.

Hmmm. If I were a physician I wouldn't urge people to become test subjects.
It is something that people hard up for money have always done
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@REMsleep the fact that she is a doctor and also has a side job on that news channel and bragging about doing a clinical trial and “It was the easiest money I ever made.” Geez, that was just stupid. You have to drive to the testing facility and the pay is very little. Sometimes they pay $60-$100 and probably not much more depending on how many trips you make. Hardly worth your while much less taking the risk of having some bad side effects.

Maybe, if the company paid me in stock.
