Shoulder pain

If for example I do a barbell standing press or seated dumbbell press my right shoulder starts to hurt which makes me stop completely doing the workout. But if I do a upright row there isn’t any pain.
Does anyone recommend on what I should do?

If the presses you are doing are up above your head, and your right shoulder hurts, then you may or may not have arthritis in that one shoulder. Happened to me after years of trying to carry fifty pounds of groceries up a flight of stairs using one hand. I got to the point where I couldn't lift my arm up above my head without pain, even when I was not lifting anything, and I had to have surgery.

While there are a lot of things that could be wrong, it's best to see a doctor of orthopedic medicine, have an x ray, and be sure before you hurt yourself worse.

@4meAndyou if I lift my arms above my head there is no pain it’s just when I lift weights above my head I get pain in my shoulder.

I would stop doing upright rows. That exercise puts too much stress on your rotator cuff. If you have any irritation to it already, it will only exacerbate the issue.

What sort of pain is it and where exactly?

The other person is right, you will need to see a specialist who will first x ray your shoulder. Should that prove to be inconclusive you will need an MRI to determine the integrity of your joints (we have two major joints there, the shoulder joint and the shoulder girdle)...as well as, rule out structural damage to the muscles, ligaments, tendons and cartridge.
