Blocking should be a last resort, not a first response . . .
Never blocked anyone in 8 years on EP and never blocked anyone on SW in 8 years. Yes, I've had stalkers, unsolicited naked pics (male and female), I've had abuse in my DMs but I never block. I just ignore the idiots and trolls and hey presto, they go away! How about you? Do you wear your blocked users as a badge of honor or does it take a lot before you reach for the button?
I don’t get why people see blocking as a big deal. Yea trolls and abusive users will get bored and move on, but I actually have no interest in seeing their posts and comments so I’d rather just block and then they’re not part of my experience. My life is hard enough, I come here to escape and have fun, blocking anyone starting drama is better for my mental health
I regularly run out of blocks and so have to unblock users I blocked five or six years ago to free some up. I sometimes am reminded why I blocked those people in the first place.
Well, if nothing else, it proves there must be more than 500 people on this site @DunningKruger :)

I get blocked far more often than I block. It surprises me when we haven't shared one word. But I'm getting numb to it. Block me if you feel you must. I shall survive and thrive.
I must be on a roll! I got blocked again by a woman last night. She visited my profile and instantly blocked me without a word. A woman nearly 50 years old. I guess my profile shows I'm a terrible pervert. Haha isn't it something how presumptuous some people can be and how superior the must feel! Oh well. As I've said before c'est la vie!!
Yeah most people that block me I've never even spoke to and I've absolutely no idea who they are, LMAO!!!😆
But yeah I totally agree I've blocked about 10 people while I've been on here. The sorta that follow you around being all angry and verbally abusive but if they ain't bothering me I don't bother them, if I don't wanna see them on my feed I'll just mute em rather than resorting to blocking them. 乂º◡º乂
There are people I don't want in my feed and don't even want to stumble upon again, therefore I block them.

Who cares if people choose to block or not ? It's up to them ..why do some people act like they have earned this badge of honor by not blocking ? Pfft ...if I could block people offline I would ...

I just blocked one of the catfish scammers longer term accounts a few moments ago for trolling me, and demanding repeatedly to know how I've been tracking their fake accounts down.

I block the second I sense toxicity coming from a person. And I don’t feel bad about it.
All good points and perfectly valid @ThirstenHowl If the ceiling is 500 blocks, How do people reach that number? I can understand some folk deserve blocking but 500? surely not?
