Blocking should be a last resort, not a first response . . .

Never blocked anyone in 8 years on EP and never blocked anyone on SW in 8 years. Yes, I've had stalkers, unsolicited naked pics (male and female), I've had abuse in my DMs but I never block. I just ignore the idiots and trolls and hey presto, they go away! How about you? Do you wear your blocked users as a badge of honor or does it take a lot before you reach for the button?

I don’t get why people see blocking as a big deal. Yea trolls and abusive users will get bored and move on, but I actually have no interest in seeing their posts and comments so I’d rather just block and then they’re not part of my experience. My life is hard enough, I come here to escape and have fun, blocking anyone starting drama is better for my mental health

That's a valid point @SW-User What about 'mute'? Doesn't that cut them from your feed?

@afreshstart77 I don’t see the difference really, I’d rather just block them and then they’re gone for good
@afreshstart77 Yes, but why does it matter if she uses mute or block?

@MsSwan It doesn't. I've expressed an opinion and would like to hear how others see it.
@afreshstart77 That's cool. I just meant the difference is kind of negligible.
