Mathematics, at the end of the day, is a language used to describe a very specific thing. In a world where 2+2=22 is true, the reason is because our understanding of either 2 or + or = or 22 or some combination thereof is different.

As an example, in many computer programming languages if you take 2 as a text character and + as a string concatenate command, you indeed get a string result of 22. The statement is truthful, but the understanding behind it is different.
