It's actually a 1970's Blaxploitation film, believe it or not...

@OnePatheticClown That’s "Jive Talking" and not a term they originated.
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
@bijouxbroussard "Jive Talkin'" is the title of a song by The Bee Gees, from their 1975 album, Main Course.
bijouxbroussard · F
@Sidewinder I remember it well. But "Jive Turkey" is different.

essentially a ne'er-do-well. steer clear if you can 😌
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
It's a slang phrase that originated in 1970's North America used as a verbal attack against either someone's intelligence or overall character, used in a phrase like: "Up yours, Jive Turkey!" Which often elicits the comeback phrase: "I ain't no jive turkey... This close to Thanksgiving." (or some other equivalent phrase)
justlooking2023 · 56-60, M
A self-roasting fowl?
TrunkZ · 56-60, M

@bijouxbroussard Omg, there's actually a song called Jive Turkey! 🤭
bijouxbroussard · F
@MsSwan Yes. 1974, and that was a prime diss back then, too—"you jive turkey" ! 😄

I think jive is a type of seasoning. It's similar to jerk chicken.

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Don't be so naïve, Arthur; each of us faces a clear moral choice.
