Why does SW allow abusive people

Hmm so you are responsible for curating your own block list and I recommend you start blocking people who harass and abuse you.

If said abuse and harassment against you is unlawful or if it is a popular cause you can expect support from the admins and user base here.

Looking at your post history, it seems you are a Christian and promoting your faith and challenging others on theirs.

You can expect push back, challenges and outright hostility to that. Keep that in mind as you proceed.

I haven't had anyone be rude to me yet.

I was kind of rude a couple nights ago because I was drunk which is actually no excuse, but the two people I wasn't civil to was polite to me and the next day I tried to be a better person because of their behavior toward me.

I was impressed and grateful they didn't block me.

We do have a block feature. It’s very handy. That feature alone takes care of the problem.

How long did you wait? I reported someone and they did act but it took weeks. I don't think SW is a big organization.

I'm thinking it's because they know that we're adults and as adults we don't have to put up with/react to it.

They do. It just takes a while

I always receive a follow-up report if and when I report abuse. Sometimes it's months later...but it's really not much of an issue for me because I block abusive people almost immediately.

This thread is too vague. It would be better if you pointed directly to this abuse. Context is everything.

What was the abusive behaviour? If its just a few harsh words in an argument then that's going to happen from time to time.

To be honest, I think most of the bullies and abusers are bots, so you will get a lot of use out of the block feature. Just my opinion, of course

I think it all relates to choice and perspective.

What one may see as abuse, another may laugh off.
What one may see as horrible words, anither may see as a sad angry person .

Part of the resson im here is to learn to cope and deal with people like this .

Some users are just awful. They get off on arguing, and upsetting people .

One has to look at the upside if this situation: you can block them.

In RL , we can't expect someone to step in and fix everything for us. Same here .
We are all grown ups.

I know that sounds harsh. But ive had people here make me cry , make me angry .....but each one also made me stronger , better prepared for the next one .

I think its unrealistic to think you wont get bullied online , its a responsibility free playground for people like that.

Its sad she wants to leave , and that admin hasnt done anything, but i supoose it depends upon their perspective on this .
As i know there have been users who complained that having their posts ignored by others was a form of bullying ....admin see a lot . Admin are used to dealing with it, maybe they didnt deem it bad enough ? I dunno .

Its sad it happens, buts its just online life .....meanies are everywhere , you can't avoid them all.🤷‍♀️😔

It's only abuse when certain types do it

Block, ignore or mute and to make itt fun, mock them😅

I have had a few harass me. If they get enough reports they will be banned
