Yes. Decreases oxygen intake plus you breathe back in all you just exhaled. Most likely your blood will not be oxygenated enough. Low oxygen may cause cancer. Ineffective against any viruses and more. Whats the point just because your TV said so?
@SW-User Surgeons wear masks to keep from infecting their patients. It's the same reason people are wearing masks now. I did do my research, dumbass. Please post a credible source that explains why it's a good idea for surgeons to wear masks but not anyone else.
And I swear to God this is the last time I am posting link for anyone. SO DONE WITH THAT.
If you don’t like the post, scroll by. I am not spending hours arguing or trying to prove anything. Have more important things to do . Have a great day and breathe in as much fresh air as you can. Take care
@SW-User I never said cloth masks were as effective as medical masks. You didn't differentiate; you gave some bullshit response about "masks" in general decreasing oxygen intake and causing cancer. I guess you won't post a link supporting that, but don't worry, I can navigate to the Alex Jones site myself.
So based on the link you posted, can I conclude that you agree that people should wear medical masks to stop COVID from spreading?
Microbiologists agree that frequent mask wearing creates a moist environment in which microbes are allowed to grow and proliferate before entering the lungs. Those foreign microbes then travel down the trachea and into two tubes called the bronchi until they reach small air sacks covered in blood vessels called alveoli.
@curiosi I don't know where yoou got that impresson. It isn't true. There is no evidence that any mask increases the incidence of infection. Of course, if the mask feels wet, it should be replaced.
it's not even to do with covid. there were times before the pandemic where if i had a bad cold or flu i'd wear one just to minimise passing it on. i wasn't forced to but it's just general courtesy.
it's only because it was mandated and required that people are opposing it, not because it's a mask. these people would probably protest bomb shelters if they were in ww2 because the government mandated it.
SW-User
I don't trust people who're all of a sudden concerned about my health who would've told me to go jump in a lake soley based on my political views before covid was a thing. I don't wear it so you (not you personally) can avoid me like the plague, i prefer it that way. Saves me the energy of having to deal with pretentious know-it-alls.
I lost plenty of family last year, right in the middle of this so called pandemic, not even a single one of em' died of covid. So turns out covid or no covid death happens. I don't question the reality of it I do however question the fear mongering around it.
@SW-User It's not like you were going to be arrested if you didn't wear a mask. There was plenty of conservative pearl-clutching over not being allowed to buy groceries when that probably happened to no more than two or three people.
They're a little annoying 'cause they fog up my shades, but real talk -- I'm gonna keep wearing them just to slow the spread of other illnesses like influenza.
they are a protection offered cheaply to the contaminated air you inhale . Same as wearing a helmet against head injuries or your shoes against foot injuries.
@awhitedot it isn't something any one loves. In the hospital we were, I am retired, periodically fit tested for masks. Often I found i needed to change which I used. If your glasses fog, it generally means the fit isn't good and all your exhaled air is being forced up through leaks at the top. See the latest CDC suggestions on how to avoid it from happening. There are some simple maneuvers that may help.
