What exactly do people have against wearing masks? I could wear one for the rest of my life

Is it really that hard??

I don't trust people who're all of a sudden concerned about my health who would've told me to go jump in a lake soley based on my political views before covid was a thing. I don't wear it so you (not you personally) can avoid me like the plague, i prefer it that way. Saves me the energy of having to deal with pretentious know-it-alls.

I lost plenty of family last year, right in the middle of this so called pandemic, not even a single one of em' died of covid. So turns out covid or no covid death happens. I don't question the reality of it I do however question the fear mongering around it.
@SW-User Masks don't protect the wearer, they protect other people if the wearer has COVID and is asymptomatic. That's why conservatives don't want to wear them - they don't give a fuck about other people.

@LeopoldBloom Let's not pretend like people wear masks to protect others. They do it because it gives them piece of mind that they themselves are protected from others, much like a condom gives you the confidence that you, are protected.
@SW-User It doesn't matter if people wear masks because they think they will protect them from Martians. The effect of mask wearing is to slow down the virus' spread, by preventing people who have the virus but are asymptomatic from passing it to others, even if they mistakenly think that they're protecting themselves.

My point is neither do mask wearers
@SW-User At least the mask wearers are making an attempt to protect others based on their understanding.
SW-User
@LeopoldBloom They attempting to protect themselves, not others.
@SW-User They're doing the right thing for the wrong reasons.

When I wear a mask, it's to protect others.
SW-User
@LeopoldBloom The right thing for me is to go on with my life.
@SW-User It's not like you were going to be arrested if you didn't wear a mask. There was plenty of conservative pearl-clutching over not being allowed to buy groceries when that probably happened to no more than two or three people.
