When I was 15 my first job was washing dishes at some restaurant.
It was nice at the time because it was purely spending money.
I saved up to buy a used car and also spent money on BS like books, birth control, and maybe some junk food.

I was 14 when I worked as a labourer unloading Tuna boats. Used the money to help my mother pay for food and bills.

SW-User
I love how you take care of your mom @Thevy29

12 as an "independent contractor" mowing lawns. I enjoyed the work and liked getting paid even more. Saved some, bought stuff with the rest. First working for a company job was McDonalds at 17. Didn't really make enough to do much with it. gas money mostly. The work was ok, didn't get along with the management attitudes and didn't last too long there.
polyandrym66 · 70-79, M
@GerOttman When you were mowing at such a young age, did you ever "barter" for your services?
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@polyandrym66 nope! 2 bucks, front and back, extra to rake..
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M

I was 16 and a musician. One weekly gig was pianist for a ballet class in the evenings. The other was as a church organist for a Southern Baptist church. I took the job on the condition that they would not try to convert me (I was Catholic).
The broke that promise, and I didn’t stay too long.

@bijouxbroussard They couldn't help themselves. They probably complained later about not being able to keep a pianist.

I was 17, still at school and took a summer job at a lucerne mill, quite physical and dusty work in the heat. I saved enough for a guitar amp to use with my band.

I worked in cleaning agency and later in a shop for fixing TVs. Algeria.
Child labor is common in Africa. It's cheaper and they don't talk about fair treatment.

I was brand influencer I got paid for it it wasn’t a lot as I had to rely on a lot of sales. So that meant I had to at least have other money else were which meant private funds such as savings. Before that I used to volunteer a lot at age 17 I looked after animals and I worked in charity shops. I was even in a band but I left as the guy was so creepy and he kept touching me without my permission that was when I was 19. I kept telling him your making me feel uncomfortable please stop but he kept saying sorry then carried on. Now I’m working from home because of the lockdown on onlyfans , after I will be back out stripping in clubs after the lockdown is over and trying to do some lingerie modelling for some extra money.

I was 14 got a job at a donut and coffee shop. Loved it. Smell of fresh coffee every morning. Spent my money on a new pair of Dr. Martens and some books. Got fired because my boyfriend was hanging around one day. (Which was totally unfair because he was a paying customer.)
polyandrym66 · 70-79, M

@SW-User No duh! Either made a man of you, or made you go home to your mamma! lol We were really chauvinistic at 16...
RopinTexan · 36-40, M
I don’t remember my exact age, but I was in college, and it was a summer job at a car dealership. I absolutely hated every minute of it. I sucked at it too. The only reason I got the job was out of pity, as a favor to my mom. The owner of the dealership is friends with her and gave me the job.

SW-User
@RopinTexan did you at least sell a car ?
RopinTexan · 36-40, M
@SW-User No, I wasn’t a salesman. I was the guy who cleaned the cars and drove them to the main lot. I sucked at it so bad that the owner/manager called me in and demoted me to a janitor who just sweeps the floors. “All the others are going to be jealous of you because you don’t have to be outside in the heat! We’ll call you the interior cleanliness ambassador,” he said. It was kind of demeaning the way he babied me and tried to make it sound like a promotion instead of a demotion. I walked out the next day without saying anything and didn’t return. My mom was pissed.
21 years old... not at all..

I was 18 (so just last year) and I got a job at the student union doing random tasks ("assistant" to student government specifically but I do other things). I liked it. Menial work mostly, but I liked the people I worked with and it wasn't too demanding. Was intending to continue this year until all this pandemic crap happened.
13 at a family friends garage, cleaning tools and General shop floor bitch duties.
Saved most my pennies but used some of it to build a gaming computer. Eventually my first car by 16 and then collage afterwards. Been working mostly ever since.

I was sixteen. Worked as a glass collector. It was horrid. I was the only glass collector there from 8pm-5am. Picking up glasses from over 600+ people, stacking them, slapping them in a steam washer, took them out, dried them and then stacked the shelves.
The second a table had more than 2 glasses, my boss gave me shit. Like I had time.
