Is there any meaning behind your username?

Oberon1 · 61-69, M
Nothing profound. Oberon was Pucks boss..........sort of.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Oberon1 I almost. ... almost said " So I have no hope of maturing by the time I'm your age". LOL
Then, just before i started to type, I realized I am your age already. LOL.
I am kind of the same way. I have HUGE faults that I wear on my sleeve. I figure if I can't change them then I will own them. I spent way too much time and energy trying to rid myself of them to no avail.
I try to work within them rather than around them.
Like you said, some things people see as faults you see as assets. I have some clunks in my trany but I can still get around.
I might be a mess right now but brighter days are on my horizon.
Oberon1 · 61-69, M
@Dainbramadge I am glad you see a bright future. If I put in the effort I can improve my life considerably! It seems really easy to isolate, but nothing changes if nothing changes!
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Oberon1 Oh man. I started to isolate out of being way depressed. The clinical kind not a self diagnoses. Bi-Polar 2. It took forever to get into a functioning position .. so that wasn't my fault but later I found myself doing it to avoid hassles. Got used to it and those hassles were called life.
So when the energy level permits I make sure I push myself out of the comfort zone. Nothing big ... just the occasional mindless meandering. Short term.
Obtainable goals might as well be my middle name. I'm all about the success and avoid disappointing myself as much as possible.
It's starting to get easier. I can see isolation being an easy trap to fall back into.

I have shared often but don't mind sharing again .
I served with a real Hero in service ,
He went by the handle "Rocket"
He drove a tear drop top Corvette that ran about 160 .
When it come to saving lives he was fast and the best I have ever seen ,
do things with a boat most people would think was impossible ,you would think pulling someone out of the water he was trying to run them over ,,but when he went from full forward to full reverse
you could literally reach down ,and the person was right there and with someone in the water ,ever second counts .
But he was like that with everything ,deadly accurate with a weapon ,throwing a line ,spotting the right boat ,picking out things that just didn't look right .
I hated him at first ,,He had a way of making you feel stupid if you didn't know you're stuff ,,so he made all those around him be better too .
He was killed in his Vet ,,not much left of it .or him .
But he left behind a legacy ,and a lot of people who loved and respected him .
He made me one of the best kid coxswains ever .we were the best of the best .
So in memory of him my screen name was Rocket .
But I was off the net for a while ,forgot my password .so since there were no cell phones when I made the account ,I didn't have a means to recover them .
So rckt was as close as I could get ,,and there were already 147 of them .
Shows how long I have been on the net .
I actually had the only Rocket for a time ,until I forgot my password to log in
Not on SW ,on AOL with an Altell dial up account .

JR are my first initials and Vanguard is a rough translation of my surname
My older one, @SpeculoTurbinis is roughly Latin for “Glass Tornado“ which is a story I wrote when I was younger
And @Hoenut was a stupid joke I immediately asked the admins to undo😂

Yes I wrote a short poem a few months back. It's on my profile. I rarely write anymore but it was worth keeping and is in my style of writing so I like it. It wrote itself really.
