I swear to Christ in his heaven, if murder weren't illegal...
Earlier this week, my dad, who has never brushed his teeth in his entire adult life, and has canceled numerous dental appointments over the last couple of years, suddenly had a dental emergency that nobody could have predicted.
So Mom and I had to drop everything and find him an emergency dentist, because he refuses to figure out how to do this stuff himself. Got him in to see somebody at a place called The Emergency Tooth Doctor. They did some work, but not as much as they wanted to. Then they gave him prescriptions for penicillin and hydrocodone, and sent him on his way. Yesterday, because his pain pills were running out, I made him another appointment for today. But now he doesn't want to go to the dentist, because his mouth hurts.
My Grandfather. When he was in his 30's. Couldn't afford a dentist. (He spent most of his money on whiskey) and one night when he was drunk and had bad tooth pain. He used pliers and ripped every one of them out.
I really don't understand why people choose not to take care of their teeth like that. Who wants their mouth to get so bad they need anti-biotics? My brother in law is like that. His teeth and mouth were all infected.
@JimboSaturn I'm not letting him skip out on this appointment. If this is what he's like when he's got pain pills in his possession, I will not be around him when he runs out.
