I swear to Christ in his heaven, if murder weren't illegal...

Earlier this week, my dad, who has never brushed his teeth in his entire adult life, and has canceled numerous dental appointments over the last couple of years, suddenly had a dental emergency that nobody could have predicted.
So Mom and I had to drop everything and find him an emergency dentist, because he refuses to figure out how to do this stuff himself. Got him in to see somebody at a place called The Emergency Tooth Doctor. They did some work, but not as much as they wanted to. Then they gave him prescriptions for penicillin and hydrocodone, and sent him on his way. Yesterday, because his pain pills were running out, I made him another appointment for today. But now he doesn't want to go to the dentist, because his mouth hurts.
