I'm sorry, in what universe is this acceptable?

So I had an appointment scheduled for somebody to come out and fix our dishwasher. It has been completely non-functional for about the last two months. The appointment was for today, somewhere between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. parts arrived yesterday that may or may not be needed in repair of the dishwasher. Got a text this morning at 9:30 telling me they are still on their way.

Then, just about 3 minutes later, I got another text saying I've been rescheduled for the 9th of fuсking November, and to follow the link for more details. Damn right I wanted more details. Turns out, clicking for more details didn't we know good, other than to confirm the day and time, and to remind me that if I try to cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours notice, there will be consequences.

Where's the consequences for them pulling this ѕhit?

Shit customer service for sure.

Don’t people wash their own their own dishes anymore?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Morvoren I mean, we have been for about two months, but we prefer not to.

I know man, finding people to do things is very hard! I don't think there are enough people in these professions. I had an electricity problem and the repair guy didn't even call me back.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@LordShadowfire Yes they can pick and choose the jobs they want to do.

@LordShadowfire
aren't enough young people interested in service and repair jobs.
In the capitalist system that just means that no one is willing to pay enough.
@LordShadowfire and service providers like to keep things lean. Companies I've worked for throughout my life put a premium on keeping operating costs low while taking on more work than they can handle.

The consequences are clearly approximately three weeks of washing up by hand. AKA a first world problem!
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@Lauren19 It can be annoying if you took the day off work.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@JimboSaturn Exactly. While I recognize that millions of people around the world have to wash dishes by hand in the sink, we set aside the entire day to accommodate these people, only to have them do what they don't allow us to do.

This apartment building has been without heat for two weeks, and it's been a cold month. The manager said he called two companies and they are booked up until next May! He found one that is coming next week and may be able to "partially" fix it. I don’t know what that means but it sounds like a long cold Winter.
I feel ya. That shit is ridiculous.
